Summary: Based on some of the bad reviews I hesitated buying this model. I actually purchased at my local WM because I was in a pinch and had to replace my non working LG bluray. I can say I am very pleased. Set up was easy. The speakers are hardwired which kind of sucks but most affordable theater systems come that was anyway. For those people complaining about the speaker volume and sound.
Ordered as a christmas present for my grandparents. they LOVE it

Summary: If you're thinking about ordering the phillips 5.1 home theater system you should be expecting an impressive bang for your buck. pros: setup was a breeze sound is actually quite immersive (when placed correctly) control over sound output from each speaker during setup is impressive comes with a remote cons: netflix is just about impossible to navigate.
Summary: The Philips 3D Blu-ray Home Theater system is good. I has real theater like sound. Picture quality is very good. There are a few problems though. The front speaker wires are too short. If you want to really spread the front speakers apart, you can't spread them more than six feet from the unit. The center speaker wire is only three feet long. The speaker wires are very thin, so care needs to be taken when setting it up. A hard tug would probably break them.
Summary: The only problem we have had with it is that the remote doesn't always work right away. Other than that it is easy to hook up and sounds great. The Netflix function is easy to use and better than other ones I have seen.
Summary: Its a great product for the price. You wont go deaf if turned up to max volume and as commented before it is Slow reacting to the remote. If you are of little patience, don't buy this. Its perfect's for my living room of 11x30 but I did have to purchase more wire to install the speakers where I wanted them. No big deal.
Summary: I liked how easy everything was to setup. My family isn't the most tech savvy and conveniently they had a Phillips tv. The tv automatically switched sources and one controller could control the TV and Blu-ray players volume. It didn't have the best sound, but was a great upgrade to the TV. They still had analog cable, so I just chose Multi-Channel in the audio settings. CONS: The audio menu was on the front of the head unit.. and there wasn't a TV counter-part..
Summary: Purchased this as an ex-display item from Tesco. Setup was straight forward although I had to extend the cables (using speaker wire and block connectors) to fit my room, however this was not difficult and any DIYer should be able to manage this. Additional features such as Youtube and watching external content from the USB slot was great - all my DVDs are now on my external hard drive for instant access. Overall, good value for money and easy to use.
