Summary: I bought this SoundBar just as a replacement for my old Pioneer surround sound system.Well sure enough i ordered the Phillips CSS213B/F7 on Amazon and i paid a low price.Item is brand new,i opened it and set it up in less than 10 minutes using a Optical Cable connecting it to my XBOX 360,very easy...
Summary: Moving into a new house, my massive surround sound system was going to the "man cave" so we needed something for the living room, but the wife didn't want the speakers scattered throughout the room. So we settled on a sound bar.
Summary: To address the immediate question...Yes this bar does provide added value. It's not completely horrible or useless as my 2/5 stars may suggest. It's just that $139.99 it's not a good value (or anything greater than $99.99 really).
Summary: Philips CSS2123B/F7 SoundBar Home Cinema Speakers This sound bar was a bit disappointing. I was looking for a convenient method of improving the sound on my Toshiba 40" which has lousy sound quality.
Summary: For the size and money, the sound is very good. The simulated surround works well, especially with the optical output (Dolby Digital) from my Vizio TV. The dialog from TV is exceptionally great.

Pleasantly surprised. It's not perfect. But I didn't expect perfect from the cost. But regardless of that, highly recommended!

Unfortunately, Philips decided to make this a "smart" device, so whenever I fast-forward on my DVR, this sound bar "intelligently" cuts the volume and high...
Summary: Let me first start out by saying I am very pleased with this soundbar and would recommend this to anyone. *** all sound devices need to be broken in before final review*** To get the best sound quality you will need to use the soundbar for ATLEAST 6 hours before best sound is heard!!
Summary: I bought this unit at Walmart for $98 before tax, which was cheaper than what I found on Amazon. The plus side to this unit is the easy installation and quality sound. I was impressed with the simulated surround sound (that you could turn on or off with the click of a button) and bass from the...
