Review Summary

The Panasonic SCPT1050 Home Theater System consists of a center, rear, passive subwoofer with surround system speaker. It features an A/V Receiver, CD/DVD Player. A DVD video upconversion to 1080p via HDMI output, 104 watts x 2 for front speakers, 101 watts for center channel, 34 watts x 2 for surround speakers, and 95 watts for subwoofer, 5-disc DVD changer/receiver, wireless link for rear speakers and subwoofer. An iPod dock included and provides auto calibration for easy setup. However there are no Digital optical and HDMI cables. The wireless system is Radio waves based and not infra-red (as some sony models) so the back transceiver doesn't have to be in direct line with the system. The same applies for the subwoofer. The sound is pretty good. The subwoofer sound is deep and nice to the ears. The Panasonic SC-PT 1050 wireless surround speakers and sub work immediately with more or less perfect sound On the other hand the DVD is not multi-zone; and it supports only zone 1 and also it doesn't support DIVX format. Assembling the Panasonic SCPT1050 is not a difficult task, considering that, the manual is quite confusing as the explanations are a bit fuzzy. So setup up the Panasonic SCPT1050 can take some time due to unclear settings. This manual is a disappointment. Its quality is cheap and the print is very small. The directions for the features are not done in a proper and orderly way. But some people who know themselves in electronic technology found the system easy to assemble. Some users commented that there is no creativity with this unit. The options are very limited, no audio out, no options for other HD units, not even a head phone jack. Nevertheless the Panasonic SCPT1050 sound is great and it almost feels like being in a movie theater.
