Summary: This was my very first surround sound system and it's still going strong. It's a nice looking system with decent sound. I knocked off one star because of how obtrusive it is. It's best suited for a dedicated theater room and does not go well with small spaces. Of course you have all the wiring to deal with, but at least you can purchase a wireless receiver for the rear speakers if you so desire. The control let's you change the channels on your tv and turn it off and on.
Summary: This machine is great. I was using a dvd hooked to the TV. The pictures and the sound on the TV were not the best. But with the Panas0nic SC-HT740 everything is perfect. Come to think about the sound from the speakers and pictures, they cannot be compared!
Summary: This is a very lousy product. You'll enjoy it for about a year if you're lucky until the 'F61' unit display lights up, then its to the trash. As far as troubleshooting or customer support for this one, you're out of luck. Hope you have a warrenty.
Summary: Major problems with the DVD component and no help from Panasonic, or related authorized service centers, under warrenty until July 2008, puchased from you through Butterfly photo, what do you suggest I do.
Summary: Bought this (Home Theater In A Box)HTIAB for 299.99 at Best Buy , it came with the rear wireless substation, not completely wireless. The system was easy to install and all surround sound works. The unit came with a tuner (radio) also.Did alot of research on Consumer Reports .com and this unit was rated the best HTIAB,when using HDMI. I would reccomend this system to anyone thinking of a Home Theater System.
Summary: I checked out several other home theaters at Circuit City and this was the one with the best sound by far. It just blew me away, especially for the price! I purchased the entire system with speakers and subwoofer for only $314.00, and also purchased the HDMI cable. (that was quite a bit extra, but the picture and sound are so much better hooked up with it!
Summary: I can't believe I bought this. The only input on this is ONE auxiliary red/white audio input on the back of this unit, which is a huge pain, and only one yellow composite video input. HDTV has to go from your cable box/wall to the TV. I have a cable box and an XBOX 360 and this unit only allows me to connect one at a time. Also, when listening to your TV/cable/xbox through the AUX inputs you DON'T GET SURROUND SOUND!
Summary: I read 40-50 reviews, plus the Consumer Reports review of this system, then decided to get it. We did not go with the wireless set up, so I did have to add about 4 feet of other speaker wire we already had. However, I have not found a real down side to the system yet. Most of the answers to my burning questions are in the manual. For instance, one reviewer said that he could not set the unit up to play randomly from all 5 CD's.
