Summary: After reading all of the reviews, I expected this device to be easy to use and high quality. Instead, all sorts of weird things happen with it all the time. Sometimes the screen with blank out, sometimes a loud, high-pitched whine will be emitted, sometimes it'll blink the screen, sometimes the sound goes out on one or more speakers, sometimes.... Ugh... if I had it to do over, I wouldn't have bought this glitchy piece of crap.
Summary: Bought it during the Thanksgiving & Xmas period at $299. Very good price. I originally placed an order for a Yamaha, then spotted this one same price w/ something Y doesn't have: streaming, Blu-ray player and iPod docking. First impression was very good. Three star and half. - All internet services are integrated w/ ease to use. - Sound quality very good for a 20 x 20 room. My guess is even for a 40 x 40 room it will please everyone unless you have the best ears.
Summary: No problem setting this up, good sound, took a while to figure out how to work it with the Panasonic TV I have. But three things make this system really annoying 1. The SD card reader does not read MP3 or common video formats...this seems like a massive oversight 2. No USB port....my 6 year old LG system had a USB port that could read MP3. I expected big things from a new system in terms of format compatibility 3. I-Pod interface...
Summary: After reading mainly good reviews, and assuming the purchase of a home theater to match my new Panasonic Plasma Viera TV, I thought all would be well.... The blue ray works fine, the tv works fine. The home theater at 100% volume is below what the tv speakers are at 40%. Called Panasonic 3 times tried all types of setups and no improvement.
Summary: The sound and picture were good on this unit. Setup was fairly simple and the footprint is small for a Bluray with receiver like qualities. However, that's about all I can say good about this unit. On the downside, this thing has a lot of technical issues. *HDCP (High Definition Copy Protection) issues with the HDMI connections. At it's best, this results in a multi second delay as the picture stream makes it's handshake between the connected HDMI components.
