Panasonic SC-BTT350 Blu-ray 3D Home Theater in a Box (HTiB) Review

BigPictureBigSound
2 April 2011
  • Conclusion: For under $350, this little Blu-ray 3D HTiB system is something special, offering  a significant sonic upgrade from a TV's built-in speakers, and delivering video performance and features that are fairly astounding for its price point.  It also provides an excellent source for 1080p and 3D content.  The streaming options are a bit light but it has the important ones (Pandora, Netflix, YouTube, Amazon VOD).
  • Pros: Built-in Blu-ray 3D player, On-board decoding of Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio, Decent DVD upconversion performance, Excellent Blu-ray and Blu-ray 3D playback, Surprisingly good sound from such a small package, Excellent value, Good selection of streaming features, Built-in Blu-ray 3D player, On-board decoding of Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio, Decent DVD upconversion performance, Excellent Blu-ray and Blu-ray 3D playback, Surprisingly good sound from suc...
  • Cons: Netflix interface lacks browse or search capabilities, No VUDU streaming, User interface can be non-intuitive, Limited dynamic range if pushed, Bass is a little boomy

Panasonic SC-BTT350 review

homecinemachoice.com
19 January 2011
  • Excerpt: The art of designing AV kit to look contemporary and even attractive is a skill that seems to have passed Panasonic by – its designers refuse to match the exterior aesthetics or the menu systems of its products to the technological innovation that lies within their often dour exteriors. The BTT350’s main unit, for example, looks almost the same as one of the brand’s early DVD players, or dare I say it, a late VCR.

What Hi-Fi?
18 January 2011
  • Excerpt: It's taken a while, but now we're seeing all the big AV players producing home cinema in a box systems with Blu-ray players as the source. (In case you've been under a rock, these will of course play your DVDs and CDs, too). And what's more, they're on sale at prices that will surely make DVD-only systems either a thing of the past or simply ultra-affordable. The icing on the cake here is that Panasonic's SC-BTT350 is also 3D-capable.
  • Pros: Exhaustive spec with 3D and Blu-ray, fine sound, bright, punchy pictures
  • Cons: Some hints of picture noise and motion judder, but nothing too irritating
