Summary: Not long after we got one of these the door started freezing up... cycle the power, press enough buttons and you can reset the software bug to get it to eject for a while as long as it doesn't get the latest firmware. Netflix only shows what you have in the instant queue and no other online services seem to get added though it seems like the firmware would support them.
Summary: Sound is pretty decent. Speech could still be better. The Netflix menu is rather slow and I can never remove things from the instant queue even though there is a selection for it. The unit sometimes turns itself off. Also it randomly has a loud pop that sounds like it comes from the subwoofer. While a vast improvement over the speakers inside my flat TV I do regret buying this unit. *** Update 28 Feb 2012 *** Loud random pop still happens. All the menus are sluggish.
Summary: First of all, I thought I was getting a really good piece of equipment here. But boy was I surprised. If you have an older HDTV like I do that uses the GRB cables, pass this one up! I had to buy a converter to change the HDMI to signals my TV could use (The unit does have regular component outputs, but what good is a blu-ray if you don't use it in HD format??) Another thing it didn't have is built in Wifi.
