Summary: Bought these for my husband for Christmas. We needed a good quality, but not terribly expensive, sound system for the 41" flat screen in our bedroom. This fit the bill well. Sounds great. Has plenty of inputs. Would buy again.
Summary: I purchased this Onkyo HTX-22HDX Ultra-Compact HD Home Theater System (Black) from Amazon October 2011 with the add-on making it a 5.1 instead of a 2.1 system with these Sanus HTB3 Tear Drop Home Theater/Box Speaker Stands . I love this system! It sounds so great. I tried probably a dozen different home theater systems before finding this gem which cost less but sounds like a much more expensive HTS.
Summary: I bought this system because it sounded really easy to use and it is. It sounds better than a soundbar/sub duo because the front speakers are apart and not enclosed in a one piece box. I think it sounds as good as many systems twice its price. I was worried about the 25 watts per channel but it fills our room with thunderous sound and the theater dimensional feature actually makes it sound like there are speakers all around you.
Summary: Picked this Onkyo system up to upgrade from the weak speakers in my LCD TV, and im very pleased with my purchase. in the unboxing process, i noticed the subwoofer/hub has enough ports to turn this 2.1 into a 5.1 with optional speakers (the included instruction manual has speaker # SKS-22X listed for the center and rear-surrond speakers).
Summary: The onkyon 2.1 sound system is for my pc setup and i got to say it looks awesome and sounds great, has lots of audio inputs like optical line in, rca, coaxial and hdmi too! has more outputs for extra speakers, so you can have a 5.1 setup as well, all in all its a good sound system at a good price.
Summary: After helping a friend wire a full Bose 5.1 system, I really wanted something simple. This delivers. I think the sound is better than the Bose 2.1 and has WAY better connections. Very expandable. We use it for music for parties too, good bass.
Summary: This little Onkyo setup is truly an excellent 2.1 system, at a great price. It is compact, the speakers are great, and the built in Woofer & receiver are very convenient if you're adding this system to a TV in, say, your bed room. THis will not replace your expensive 5.1+ system, but for, say, a bedroom television or a small stereo somewhere else in the house other than the main focus entertainment system, you can't go wrong with this.
