Summary: We have the ultra-high end custom sound system in our main living area. In the game room I did not want to go through the hassle and expense of such a system so I purchased this compact system. The product does its job well and sounds very good for the price.
Summary: This has 2.1 speakers with an optical input and an HDMI input that will work with your typical HDTV. Even better, the subwoofer includes a receiver built into it, which is why this compact system will work right out of the box. And that also mean far fewer cables going every which way too.
Summary: This set of speakers produces very clear sound, a huge improvement over the native TV speakers. The system is very compact, but also has the option of expanding to 5.1 later on if you do decide to purchase few more speakers.
Summary: I have this in a small sunroom attached to my Samsung tv, Sony DVD player and apple tv. The woofer is fine but the left and right speakers are not that great. I purchased a pair of Cambridge Audio Minx mini speakers to replace them.
Good starter system with surprisingly powerful sub

Summary: Setup this system to replace a Panasonic system that died. This Onkyo set is perfect for our small living room and the fact that I didn't want a 5.1 system. The sub can produce a lot more rumble than I really expected from this system but it can also be as tame as you need it to be.
Summary: I've had my eye on this package for many months and when I saw it drop below $200 recently, I decided it was time to give it a try. What a great package and value at this price. I am using it in a 12'x12' bedroom with a 32" HDTV and it's just great.
Summary: I purchased this system for use in my office/study to supplement the Vizio 26"LED Flat Panel I purchased earlier this month. Since the entire setup (TV, speakers/receiver, BluRay and cable box) sit on one corner of the desk/wall unit size is an issue.
Best value buy for a 2.1 mini system to complement a HDTV - Beats Bose's HDTV audio/video replacements.

Summary: I think with the 3 HDMI ins and 1 HDMI out, this 2.1 HTIB has helped simplify my wiring needs to enhance the audio for my HDTV in a fairly large living room which was not presenting itself well for me to fit a 5.1 or larger system.
Summary: A solid choice for those wanting better sound for TV and/or iTunes playback . It's more like "stereo plus" than quasi-surround sound, but for the price it can't be beat. Bass response is great and the faux surround effect is not bad (depending on where you sit in relationship to the speakers.
