Summary: Firstable even appearing as available, after checkout the first feedback was that wasn't available on stock by Amazon, so i decided to buy from the next one option available, a little more expensive but for my surprise, the first information was that maybe wasn't available, and after that, E-tronicsdepot partner didn't ship to the hotel address, just for home address, and even after i provide a home address for shipment, the purchase was cancelled.
Summary: I bought it and did liked for one month and the subwoofer went out just as others experiencing. I tried everything and called customer service at 800-229-1687. CS went over trouble shoot and did acknowledge that there is a problem with sub and assured me it will be taken care. He took all the informations from me such as model number, serial number, my home address and phone number. I waited two weeks and no shipping box or any replacement.
Summary: my old roommate had the S5400 - flawless. he moved out so i had to replace the system he was taken and figured i'd upgrade a model....absolute garbage. Aside from the fact that it takes 10+ minutes to turn on and it just endlessly clicks and clicks and clicks it also turns itself off randomly (not an issue with the "sleep" function) and the hdmi ports produce an insane humming noise (not a grounding issue - it's an issue with the receiver). stay away.
Summary: I wish I had never purchased this item. I recived this pulled it out of the box and straight away it did not work. After calling customer support and waiting for 20 minutes. All they could tell me was that I needed to take it to an authorised retailer. They don't know if they will fix it or if it will be covered by the warranty or not.
Summary: I decided to take a gamble by purchasing this system even after reading about all of the sub-woofer issues; I just couldn't pass it up given the price. After a couple of months the sub-woofer finally decided to shut off permanently. I will say that it sounded great with everything working properly. I tried every single "trick or fix" to get it to power on again, but to no avail.
Summary: Do not buy this HT system... I decided to give it a try after reading all the sub problems. The system arrived yesterday and after installing and playing with settings the sub does not power on at all!! Does anyone have advice??? I plan on returning the entire system this weekend or purchase a new Polk 12" powered sub. I do like the receiver and power it outputs.
Summary: The system was mostly great until the Subwoofer died a couple weeks ago. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this system because of this issue, which does not appear to be isolated to me. I thought the sound was fantastic for the price, it really opened up a new world of sound for both gaming and movie watching. I do have a few issues however: -HDMI seems to be wonky intermittently. I have weird flickering issues from time to time, but not often.
Horrible!!! Will not consider another Onkyo unless major changes are made

Summary: I purchased the product on June 16th and received the product not too long after. It was easy to setup and sounded fine initially. In just mere couple of days, I began noticing problems. All my inputs are through HDMI and they are not the most stable, but so far it's bearable, but only time will tell when the HDMI will just stop working altogether. Second and more definite issue I have with the system is that the subwoofer is completely non-functional at this point.
