Summary: This is the best Home theatre system for the price. I would expect this to have wireless speakers to make this the unbeatable in this range. the sound quality is even better than $700 models from other brands. I would easily recommend to anyone who is looking for the best entry level Home theatre system.
Pros: Clear Sound, Easy To Set Up, Energy Efficient, Good Remote, Thundering Bass
Summary: First of all, I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 due to the microscopic, pre-cut length speaker wires that come with this set and the fact that there are no threaded holes for mounting the speakers, otherwise it would definitely be 5 stars based on performance. I am brand new to the surround sound system world, so I spent significant time shopping and reading an exorbitant amount of reviews on different products.
With some tweaking, this is a great entry sound system

Summary: I purchased this sound system when I was in the market for an entry system to start out in my home theater. First of all, the setup on this Onkyo is rather easy. The speaker wires are color coded for your convenience. The subwoofer is a decent size. You can tweak this subwoofer bass to your desire. The speakers can also be adjusted based upon the distance of where the system is at. The OSD is a really nice feature as well. There is one item that I did have to adjust.
Summary: I purchased this product as a replacement for my oversized 5.1 surround that consists of a Yamaha 5.1 surround amp, Kenwood floor speakers and JBL bookshelf speakers and a huge JBL amplfied subwoofer. All taking up an enourmous amount of space. They sounded great but I needed a smaller form factor to replace the oversized speaker system that I had. I am not disappointed in the Onkyo HT-S3500. For the price I wasnt expecting the greatest results, however they are not bad.
Summary: I bought this as my main living room sound system in a new apartment. I haven't owned any similar systems. It's a solid performer, and the sound quality is probably as good as you can get without upsizing the speakers (which would be too much for an apartment). I have the subwoofer turned almost all the way down out of respect for the neighbors, but it still delivers nicely.
Summary: this was easy to set up and has easy to navigate menus. the quality is good for my taste is i just use it to watch tv and movies. i am not a high end music listener, so i cant comment on how it would perform for this purpose.
Summary: I'm not a sound guy and when researching receivers and speakers I was totally overwhelmed. I eventually bought the Onkyo HT-S3500 because it had good reviews and was reasonably priced. I have been very happy with my purchase so far. Again, I don't know any technical language to describe this system other than it sounds good and the subwoofer booms my apartment whenever Bruce Willis blows up something.
