Excerpt: I have the system set up to play my Xbox 360's audio, TV audio, and also an analog connection for a device with a 3.5mm connection. The system performs flawlessly no matter which device is sending the audio to it! All audio is crisp and clear and there is ample bass. For a $[$]system, I have absolutely no complaints. Great buy and I couldn't be happier!
Pros: Clear Sound, Easy To Set Up, Intuitive Controls, Thundering Bass
Summary: It was easy to install. The sound quality of the subwoofer is good but that of the front and surround speakers is average. I like the choices of the different listening modes provided by the receiver. They emphasize the sound effects for different sound sources. I replaced the front speakers with the Polk Audio speakers from my other system for testing and the sound quality is much better. As the experts say, the speakers are often more important than the receiver.
Summary: My review doesn't have any new revelations that you haven't already read in a dozen different reviews. BOTTOM LINE: This is a fantastic starter system. It's an all-in-one system that has all of the benefits of a component system in the sense that you can upgrade the individual pieces as you can afford to do so. I plan on upgrading the individual speakers and subwoofer over the new 2-3 years and perhaps adding some external amplifiers.
