Seemed fine but suddenly stopped working after warranty expired
26 February 2016
Summary: Great as long as you get it for $300 or less and realize that you will be replacing the entire unit within 2 to 4 years,
Pros: -sound is great. great features. Works well when its not defective
Cons: Common issue with all similar Onkyo units (due to shoddy HDMI chip apparently) is that sound will suddenly stop working after 6 months to 4 years. Randomly Mine took 4 years (happened intermittently before then) so now its out of warranty.
Summary: Purchased in September 2013, worked great till about a month ago, and the sound went out periodically. I was watching a movie last Thursday 11/19 and the sound went totally out, as in no sound from Blu-Ray, U-Verse Receiver, Fire Stick, and FM radio.
Summary: I had some issues at first with the shipping it was shipped damaged but Newegg fixed the issue with out any question. IF you are looking to get a surround sound and dont want to spend thousands of dollars this is a great system to start off with.
Pros: The system is pretty easy to setup and configure. The on screen settings helps a lot. The sound is actually pretty good for the price on the system. I have a larger living room and the sound fills the room pretty good. I am very happy about this system especially for the price.
Cons: Could be louder Sub is not powered on its own
Pros: Have only had this system for three days, but I have put it thru its paces. This Onkyo (HT-S3500) preforms like a high dollar unit. Has all the bells and whistles you would want and expect in a high end unit. You can not get more bang for your buck! The sound quality is superb and the bass is thu...
Cons: Speaker wire not the best, but does the job...
A Very Affordable, Dependable, and Enjoyable Sound System

Summary: I meant to return it after I purchased it not because of its quality. It was because I would like to purchase a more expensive brand for a change as I used a Onkyo previously. Since it was too late to do so, I accepted it, and it turned out great!
I was shocked to find that the sound quality from this system was far better than the previous Blu-Ray home theater system I had

Summary: Coming from a system that retailed for around $700 and came with a Blu-Ray player, I was skeptical of this system and it's price. I was shocked to find that the sound quality from this system was far better than the previous Blu-Ray home theater system I had.
Summary: Great system for my decent sized living room in my apartment. Not a BOSE system, but it will do! I like how many HDMI inputs it has. I have a Sony Blu-Ray hooked up to it and I like how when I turn that thing on it automatically turns on the receiver set to the Blu-Ray input.
