Summary: I was able to accompish two projects purchasing this unit. First, was to own a very good theater system for under $500. The second, was to be able to eliminate the need for a second receiver which powered my home stereo system.
Summary: I bought this system for my home theater and I love it. My media room already had four speakers (two front and two rear) flush mounted in the walls, but I wanted to buy a full Home Theater in a Box (HTiB) to get the other speakers for full surround.
Summary: It's everything you could hope for at this price. Good sound, solid receiver, and all wires included. I would recommend upgrading your cables (it comes with very basic stuff), but there should plenty of money left over to do that.
Summary: Excellent sound quality. Only issue I had was set-up. Being new to home theater systems, it took me three days and several trips to Best Buy and Ciruit City to see how the in-store models were connected. Once set up, the system is excellent.
Awesome System, Great Value, Why Spend $2K-$3K if You Don't Have To?

Summary: After much research, I decided on the ONKYO HT-SR800 to augment my new Panasonic Plasma, DVD and HD/Digital DirecTV set up. I also have Sirius Satellite radio so with this unit being Sirius-ready, and Consumer Reports giving this system their top rating, my decision was a no brainer.
Summary: After doing some research (online searching for reviews, Consumer Reports, looking in stores), we chose this brand. After looking for the best prices, this company offered the lowest price by a large margin, and offered free shipping to boot!!!
Summary: Let me start by saying that I'm no audiophile. I've gotten by with the speakers that came with my first stereo (in the '70s!) until very recently. And this is the most I've ever spent for what is essentially a tuner/amplifier with speakers.
Summary: Saw that Consumers Union rated it the best in-box 7.1 Surround system and we have not been disappointed. Superb sound and easy set-up. For the money cannot be beaten. Rivals the expensive Bose units and built as well. We highly recommend it.
Summary: I have had this system for about 9 months now, and I have no real complaints. The sound (with upgraded speaker wire and subwoofer cable) is very good, and the various listening modes are fun to play with, especially when using an iPod. The only drawback is the lack of "audio over HDMI.
Summary: I bought this home theatre system as a Christmas present for myself in 2007. I wanted to go 7.1, and would have updated my Bose speakers, but Bose does not have 7.1 as yet. And my Sony amplifier was 10 years old and did not have any digital audio.
