The Onkyo HT-SP908 is an HDMI-compliant home theater system composed of a DVD/CD player, Audio/Video receiver, 7 speakers and a dedicated subwoofer. Included in the standard package are an iPod dock and a single HDMI cable.

Receiver and DVD Player

The HT-SP908’s 7.1-channel A/V receiver, which measures 17.1 x 6.9 x 14.8 inches (W x H x D) and weighs 25.1 pounds, outputs 1000 watts (RMS) of power. The receiver features Audyssey 2EQ Auto Speaker Calibration, Faroudja DCDi and RIHD. It has built-in decoders for Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio.

The system also offers satellite radio-readiness. To get satellite radio service, an XM Radio or SIRIUS Radio tuner is required.

The Onkyo HT-SP908’s disc player, which measures 17.1 x 2.4 x 8.5 inches (W x H x D) and weighs 4.2 pounds, has a capacity for a single disc and can play both DVDs and CDs. It also supports the playback of MP3 audio files and, with the included iPod dock, can also play music directly from an Apple iPod.
