The receiver that comes with this system is known to be defective(receiver model #: TX-SR606). With approximately one year of use the HDMI connections will begin to fail, until eventually all of the HDMI connections will not function. This is a known issue with the receiver - search amazon for the receiver (TX-SR606), and look at the recent reviews to see what I am talking about. Mine started acting up a couple months ago, and now none of the HDMI ports work. Read more

The size of the receiver and speakers make it hard to fit into the furniture I have but I trust Onkyo equipment so much I made it work. Other brands are more compact and I hope Onkyo follows suit before I buy again. Onkyo made the set up easy and operation easy. Read more

Would have been good if all the speakers came with stands(had to buy 4 more). Speaker wire could have been a better guage and maybe could have came with bananna plugs(just my 2 cents). Read more

Works great in a home theatre setting and blends nicely with most equipment. This is the best (and cheapest) 7.1 surround sound HTIB around. It decodes all of the uncompressed formats with great quality. Video quality is also great. No cons to report. Read more

Great product for the price. I like feeling the sound when I listen to it watching movies and playing games so I turn it up loud. It fits my needs but if you like feeling earth shattering surround and crank up the volume like I do, I wouldn't recommend this system for very large rooms due to you may find it lacking in strength.
