Summary: The Onkyo S5600 Home theater package was a great deal but since I have only have had for 2 months can't really say much more about it. Hopefully it will last a long time! Don't have all the speakers hooked up, working on the correct placement of the speakers for my family room. The speaker wires that come with the system are poor.
Summary: This was my worst electronics purchase on line. Right out of the box the sub woofer did not work. There was no tone coming out of the speakers for the equalizer mile to work. Several functions on the remote were not working. Disappointed in the quality of this Onkyo product. I would never buy an Onkyo product.
For the money, I wish I had gone with the Onkyo 5.1 system

Summary: I got the 7.1 instead of the 5.1 version thinking that, since I LOVE watching films, that this would be the best experience. For the money, I think the 5.1 would have been fine. Very few of the films I have seen since getting the surround sound system even have 7.1 sound. I am happy with it, but I wish I had saved the extra dollars by getting the 5.1.
Summary: Bought on 24july. Finally got a chance to setup today. Hung speakers etc. (lesson learned test b4 hanging speakers). Turned it on, sub doesn't work. Light on sub lights but no sound. Tried 2 other RCA cables; silence. Called Onkyo tech support. They had me unplug RCA at amp and check for feedback. Silence. Onkyo referred me to Amazon. Amazon support was very helpful. Sending a new system and a return label. Wondering if I should buy extended warranty?
Summary: The subwoofer works for a while then stops working. I got a replacement subwoofer and the same thing happened. The rest of the system works great. I have tried to contact Onkyo directly, but get no response. This subwoofer uses a technology of only operating when the system needs it to work. I don't think this technology works.
Summary: Setup was easy. The wires are all color coded and so are the speaker connections. I originally thought the Zone 2 feature was not working but I found out that you must go into the Menu on the tv screen and turn on Zone 2. Anyway, it sounds great.
