Also included in the standard package is a wireless (infrared) universal remote control.
The 7.1-channel speaker system includes a pair of 2-way front speakers, one 2-way center speaker, four 1-way surround speakers and a down-firing subwoofer utilizing a 10 inch woofer enclosed in a wooden cabinet. The subwoofer has a power output of 290 watts while each of the remaining speakers outputs 130 watts each for a total system output power of 1200 watts.
The audio quality is further enhanced using the company’s Audyssey 2EQ Room Calibration technology. With this technology and the included microphone, setting up the speakers for optimal surround sound positioning and tuning is handled automatically. With the DynamicEQ feature, the HT-S5100 will automatically adjusts the speaker settings to match the volume levels. This ensures the clarity of vocals and dialogue.
The Onkyo HT-S5100 has three pass through HDMI inputs allowing the user to hook up and switch between three different 1080p video sources.
The system also includes built-in decoders for Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital EX, Dolby ProLogic IIx, DTS, DTS-ES, DTS-NEO 6 and DTS 96/24.
