Summary: I usually wait about a year before I give a product review and I usually only do it if I really like something or I really don't like something. This falls into the "really like" category. It's easy to use and easy to set up.
Summary: I love onkyo receivers. I've bought 3 in the last year, and 2 friends bought on recommendation. Unfortunately, you have to do your homework and avoid any onkyo with 'pass-thru.' if you ever want to have a one hdmi cable solution for audio and video.
Summary: I went cheap on the price, but feel like I still got quality and a real receiver. The sub is powerful enough that I have to turn down the volume during action scenes so I don't disturb the neighbors. Setup was easy with digital optical cables.
Summary: This little system packs quite the wallop in sound quality. Love it! Set up was really straight forward and didn't take too long, even though we have 4 major things hooked into it. With a few extra cables we could have several others hooked into it as well.
Summary: Overall when the unit is working, It's well worth the money you spend.
Pros: Sound quality is awesome. Very easy to use, and setup.
Cons: I've only owned the unit for 6 months, and I already have to ship it off to a certified ONKYO repair shop. My internal relay's stopped clicking over from one input to another. Luckily I'm still under warranty. Of course the repair facility does not ship you a pre-paid shipping box.
Summary: If you have many HDMI connections to be made, consider moving up in both price and scalability. IMHO
Pros: Great sound with my BD movies, PS3 games... Would recommend to anyone wanting a decent system under $500.00. As long as you don't have a lot of accessories to hook up, it's a great buy. Easy fast setup and plenty of wire for the satellite speakers, at least for my 12'X14' room.
Cons: It is HDMI pass through; this was the least of my worries, but worth noting. The first system I received was defective, hence the 4 eggs not 5. The $66 return charge for shipping sucked, but that's part of the online gamble. One thing to note is the flickering when the PS3 was connected through H...
