Summary: I purchased this sound bar with a LG 60" Plasma for my parents for Christmas. Went to set it up today and found that you can't set it to run on the TV remote, which happens to have all the functions that I need to run the system. The sound bar remote can be used to run portions of the TV but not the other way around. I have three sound bars in my home: 2 by Boston Acoustics and 1 made by Klipsch.
Summary: Hooked this up to our LG LED/LCD TV. Worked great. Really nice sound for the price and well within my expectations for $240. Hooked up my droid razr and Ipad via bluetooth, and streamed music flawlessly. Started watching TV again and a large screech came from the bar. Sound went out. I unplugged it, reset and it was fine; until the next night. Watching TV, medioum/loud "pop"...and the sound was gone, never to return again. I saw another reviewer that hab the same issue.
Summary: The glare on this thing is horrible. I can't even keep my eyes on the TV screen, I'm too distracted by the horrible glare this thing gives off, it's looks awful, doesn't match my 55 LG 7600 TV at all. Having only optical inputs suck, using two remotes to watch TV is just not worth it.. Also, the Bluetooth is clunky with my iPhone 4s. You have to go to your bluetooth settings whenever you want to connect.. This puppy is going back.....
Summary: I love LG products 90% of the time but with this one it is quit the love hate relationship. Pros- Sound OK for what it is Price Cons Bar CANNOT connect to Blue Tooth Head Phones for late night listening Bar CANNOT connect to the PC no matter how you try and circumvent it. If this thing is 300 watts my laptop speakers are 150 ;) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ So in a nutshell this Bar is cheap because it lacks all the good...
STICKERS leave GLUE and SCRATCHES on the sound bar!!!
19 June 2012
Summary: Everything seems fine with the system and I love the sound. One thing though. I hate hate hate when electronic companies put stickers with extremely sticky glue on the front or top of their products. When I saw the sticker I thought, "why the hell do they do this!". The sound bar had a few stickers but the other ones were static stickers that don't leave a thick sticky glue after you removed them. This sticker is on top. It's their 1-800 sticker.
Summary: I installed the sound bar beneath my brand new LG LM7600 TV and it started working immediately. After I completed the setup of my TV, the sound would no longer come from my sound bar. I ensured it was connected and the TV settings were set up for external speakers. But still no sound. The next morning, I tried the soundbar again and it WORKED for about 30 minutes, then there was a pop sound and the speakers stopped.
Summary: Read the following reviews for LG systems with wireless speakers, previous models LHB975 and LHB976 and currently produced model BH6820 - they all have problems with the wireless speakers. You would have expected LG to have worked out the bugs for the new BH6820, but they haven't. I purchased the LHB975 in 2011 and like many others, my wireless speakers stopped working after a short time.
