Hoping to this offers fair advice after many years of interaction

Summary: Basically writing this review to give back. Every now and then I come across a review of someone like myself, who tries to give fair feedback on a product and it makes me think twice about what risks I might be taking. I purchased the CS-700 on Amazon because it was 75% of the price that I could get it for from Best Buy. While you might think not getting an extended warranty wouldn't be a big deal, go ahead and read other reviews.
Summary: If I was like some reviewers who spent $199 on this system I'm sure my opinion would be different, but I paid $700 new for it when it was newer technology and it just didn't last. We started having issues 2 - 3 years into our ownership and after 4 years it doesn't work at all. I'm not an audio guy so I contacted Klipsch support to find out whether it's even worth being repaired, and they haven't given any kind of real response (but they did add me to their marketing spam...
Summary: I got this as I didnt feel like running wires for the rear speakers so decided on a 2.1setup. i was researching bose 321 system when in few searches people were praising this system. and amazon had a great sale for 199.99 so i jumped on it. setup was a breeze and sound was excellent. my father in law told me to purchase one for him upon hearing it as he shared the same problem with not wanting to run wires for rear speaker. Great little system.
Summary: I have been a Klpisch endorser for years. This 2.1 Channel system has a very well-balanced horn-technology which has a natural sound reproduction and the bass driver is excellent for an 8" down-firing unit. The price is extremely comfortable and the sound is even better. Thank you.
Summary: The system sounds much larger than it is. Very good quality sound. Right now, it's in for repairs after about 18 months. DVD kept freezing after about an hour of playing. It's a little slow in responding to the remote commands also. Repairs are hard to get, because almost no one works on these units. Had to send it back to mfg. repair shop. Flat repair cost of $175 regardless of problem, plus about $25 shipping each way ($225 total).
Summary: My husband and I purchased this system several months ago. We are using it on the main television in our family room with our new flat screen set.The sound is amazing. Crisp and clear with nice clarity. It sounds like your at the movies but without the loud booming thud-effect!We had a Bose system that was very similar to this one and after only two years with the Bose began to have trouble with one of the speakers!
Summary: I bought this set as an open box return from another website, so I got a very good price. Up until now, I had only used the speakers built into the TV, so I don't have any reference to compare to other systems. This is a good looking system. It was very simple to set up, including the wire hook-ups from the cable box and to the TV. The difference in sound from the TV to the system is night and day.
Summary: I am and electrical engineer and I could not get this low end junk to work. I know Klipse is a good brand but they completely blew this. It has no HDMI in so it not at all current technology. I also bought the matching iPod player and was excited about the wireless speaker but the range is not very good (next room only) and worse it only works one way.
Summary: I've owned both the Klipsch CS700 (still own) and the Bose 3.2.1 Basically they are both awesome for what they are (a 3 speaker set up) But they each are better than the other in one way. The Bose is a little bit cleaner sounding but the Klipsch has much more bass. I like to feel the explosions in movies so I chose the Klipsch over the Bose.
