Summary: I bought this well known brand as the CEO of Klipsch stated the the models sold at Amazon were checked and "repaired" as there were problems with the units. Given this assurance that the problem was rectifiied I bought the CS500 model in November 2010. In hindsight it started giving trouble from the onset as it could not power off in the cable/satellite mode. I had to power off in the radio mode.
Summary: Very disappointed in this purchase. I bought this home theatre system to replace an old DVD/VHS combo player that was having color and skipping issues playing DVDs. Setup this system expecting to be able to completely remove the old one and junk it, but the built-in DVD player in this Klipsch CS-500 is total garbage and stopped working within a few months. It even had worse skipping issues than my old GoVideo combo player when it did work.
Summary: I recieved this system a few months ago. The overall sound is good, the deck is very sub-standard especially for a Klipsch product. I have had many problems with skipping and other problems. I have read many reviews saying the same. I am hoping that Klipsch will upgreade this deck for me. The rest of the system is up to thier standards. I will write another review soon to let all know whether they stood by thier product or not.
Summary: I don't believe for one second that they have upgraded these units. Bought mine on July 7th, and (like everyone else) I love the sound, but the DVD player totally crapped out after 6 months of use. Hoping Klipsch honors its warranty as it appears to be too late to return to Amazon. Don't buy this.

Summary: Although this system sounds fantastic there are a few problems that have cause me to give it 2 stars. 1) The remote control has decided that it only works for volume and to control which system I want to play from. I have to get up if I want to turn it off. 2) The DVD player periodically sounds like a jet taking off. Especially when I have just turned the system on. 3) My roommate has the exact same system and she has to unplug her unit to turn it off.
Summary: I was looking for a 2.1 home theater and this was the best value out there. It gets plenty loud and will rattle the walls. It brings a whole new amount of realism to Modern Warfare 2. My only complaint is you cannot change the bass independently. If you want more bass you have to turn up the volume on the whole system. Overall, I'm very happy with this system. I couldn't get over the fact they actually included a pair of white gloves in the box!!!
Summary: The system was easy to set up. The sound quality is good...though we need to work on speaker placement. My only problem with the system is that I can't turn it off. Neither the remote or the on/off switch on the 'receiver' will turn the unit to the off position.
