Summary: I found the Home Theater system that suits my needs. Easy to set up and use. I have an existing LG 42" TV which has now come alive with this system. I also bought and hooked up an LG Blu Ray player and that too works great. I had looked at the smaller "In a Box" systems but the speakers were mostly "tinny" whereas the Boston Accoustics are just perfect.
Summary: I did all the research and finally settled on this one. I have owned it for less than 4 weeks. I just put my subwoofer in the mail today for repair. The system was "brand new" out of the box and the subwoofer won't power on. Now you are thinking, "you must have blown it out" Wrong, I am 61 years of age and blasting a system full blast is not my passion in life. Everything worked fine for 3 weeks then no bass. Yes, I am very unhappy with my purchase.
Summary: I purchased this Denon HTIab 591BA four months ago and continue to be pleased. This is a secondary setup for us and I wasn't willing to spend a great deal. I was prepared to spend a bit more on separate components until researching the 591 paired with the Boston A. speakers/sub. With Amazon's Super Saver I felt comfortable knowing I'd send it back if I was not impressed. I'm impressed considering the price and I'm not sending it back.
Summary: I purchased this unit DEC. 2010 and after a short time the Subwoofer failed. I wouldn't say that I use it in any extreme way and the fuse (which is self-replaceable) was still good. Don't expect great customer service as you will likely hold for a very good deal of time and be told to call an outsourced company for repair work. Then expect to pay for shipping..... Subwoofers are kind of heavy and therefore expensive to ship.
Summary: Most of the other reviews are right on - this set is an amazing value for the price. The quality of the manufacturing and the sound quality really can't be beat at this price. Having nicely matched components will features such as HDMI upscaling, etc. Totally worth it, I would recommend it to anyone.
Summary: I'll keep this relatively short. Everything that's been said is correct. This system sounds amazing for the price. Check that...it sounds amazing, period. Typically, the speakers in HTiB systems are a bit tinny and cheap. Not this one. The Boston Acoustic speakers packaged with this unit sound as good as any speakers I've ever heard for their small size. The receiver itself is what you'd expect from Denon: lots of features, solid build, and that general aura of quality.
Summary: Recieved this unit on 03/18; I ordered the last DHT-590BA from Amazon thru Electronics Expo but was out of stock. Instead of cancelling my order they (Electronic Expo) upgraded me to the 591 series at no additional cost. Big savings! I recommend to use the mic at first to make sure all your speakers are connected properly & than re-ajust the sound manually per the manual which does take some time to do(big difference in sound).
