Summary: Really good for the money! sound was good but I wanted deeper tighter bass then the weak 50hz sub. Eventually subwoofer would not power on after a week or so and I returned it. Then spent 4x more money on Polk 6inch monitors, svs pb2000 sub, denon av2000, so glad I did. Woot!
Summary: As a home theatre is not my daily work, I needed a friend to install. He came and saw that one speaker and the sub woofer did not work at all. I tried to communicate with Amazon but the DO NOT HAVE AN OPTION for return. Lost my money!!
Summary: This system sounds great and is cheaper than many competitors. The quality sound and high bass is exactly what I wanted for my home theater. It is equal to many high end brands but a fraction of the price. My brother purchased the same model after hearing the quality. You can connect any external music player and it makes movies feel like you are sitting in a theater. It is a must buy for anyone with a quality TV.
Summary: Very good for the price. Amp is great and looks good too. Sub leaves a little to be desired, but again, good for the price. I opted to use my existing speakers and sub and keeping speakers as backups.
Summary: At first i thought this system was just okay, but after i went through and set the proper speaker loudness it became awesome. I did not have any trouble getting it to work with any of my systems: Blue ray player, computer, ps4 or mobile devices. The system really makes movie so much better. This is my first surround sound system and I am very happy with it so far.
Summary: Technically, I bought this from BestBuy (because they had it on sale one day for $300...which was more than a steal); however, I put a lot of stock into Amazon reviews, so I thought I'd give my two cents worth. I live in a condo and was looking for an "entry level" system. Nothing too fancy, but I wanted a quality product. I was willing to spend $300 (see? Honestly wasn't looking for much) and decided on this one. One of the best decisions I've made.
Summary: Performance exceeded expectations. first the cons: 1) The default settings to match the receiver to the crossover of the speakers does not match the speakers. You should go through the settings with the manual for the speakers to set the crossover frequency. More expensive receivers will do this through a self-test. 2) The setup menu and operational menus are very plain text menus, more like a DOS screens 3) I have difficulty getting a good FM signal.
Summary: I initially purchased a cheap onkyo htib for my newly built home theater (about 20 x 18 size room) I own a 10 yr old onkyo receiver that is absolutely awesome and has been my main living room receiver the whole time (but i bought a top of the line one 10 yrs ago). Anyway, the onkyo htib was garbage.. It was like trying to watch a movie in a theater using a boombox..
