Summary: Perfect replacement for my 11 year old Sony home theatre system. Booming sound that brings out the sound the way it is meant to be heard. I still have the original subwoofer and 4 surround sound speakers, so this speaker makes the perfect addition. It it a bit larger than I expected.
Summary: I bought this speaker for 5.1 home theater system, for a medium sized rec-room. Works like a charm. Paired it up with a pair of "Dayton Audio SAT-BK Satellite Speaker Pair - Black" (front and rear surround) and a separate powered sub-woofer (which I already had) and I'm a happy listener! Clear, crisp, powerful sound.
Summary: Very nice center speaker for the price range. I was looking for a decent speaker to put on the living room under the TV for more sound and to partner with and older set of left and right speakers I have already. This was a perfect addition. The quality compared to price deserves 5 stars. Would not use it with a high end surround system. But, I would not buy a $50 speaker for one either. Handles all sound and volumes I throw at it.
Summary: Wow! The angled, 3-speaker design gives the center a more realistic, multi-directional sound that has a dimensional quality which it projects with clarity and definition. You know, I wonder if there are families and friends out there yelling "Shotgun!" just to get that perfect center position on the couch in front of those uni-directional center channel speakers.
Summary: This is a really nice sounding center channel speaker. I decided to put my basement den to use with a third A/V setup. I had some great old Tannoy speakers for the fronts, some old RCA outdoor speakers for the rears, and I added a Yamaha YST-SW216BL subwoofer, hooked up to an old Tecnics SA-DX1050 and a new LG 50PN6500. I hooked up a Sony BDP-1100 to the tv via hdmi, and used the digital optical out from the tv to the Tecnics. This produces Dolby Pro Logic 5.1.
Summary: I never knew how bad my old center speaker really was. I replaced the subwoofer and surround amplifier and still had bad sound quality, until I finally replaced the center speaker with this dayton product. I am sure there are better products out there for the "sound enthusiasts", but for my purpose it works great. Sound and especially voices come very clear through this center speaker.
Summary: I bought this as my center speaker for my surround sound system. Works very well speech or sound effects come through very clearly. It has a bracket on the back if you want to mount it. Connections on the back are of the alligator type.
Summary: I've got a pretty mismatched 5.1 setup built mainly from speakers I picked up at the thrift store. Apart from the subwoofer ($100) I didn't spend more than $5 on a single speaker. I bought the Dayton to replace a very muffled center channel speaker since it may be the single most important speaker in the set if you don't want to have subtitles on all the time. While I am not blown away by the sound, it works and seems to fit my home theater well!
Summary: It is what it is. Don't expect exceptional sound quality, but it is very good for the price. I use it as a rear center speaker and I have no complaints. It is not good enough for a main or front center, though. Save your money and get good ones for those.
