Just another scammer company

Summary: Bought This item four years ago. The first year the the volume up button stopped working the next year the volume down button also broke. I didnt really see it as a problem because it was stil working from my remote but then, the remote function stopped working turning the sound bar into a Giant Paper weight I tried contacting Boston acoustics to order a new volume control module and the price was almost as much as the whole unit cost new.
Summary: The sound quality is really good - not what I'd expect for $350 bucks but far better than the alternatives at Best Buy. If only I could have listened to a JBL soundbar because I LOVE THE SOUND on my four year old JBL Radial IPOD player. It kicks - especially since it was only $350) Going back to BA, the remote setup is a ROYAL PAIN. They guy who wrote the manual and the remote instructions-update on the BA website should be tarred and feathered. What a dope.
Summary: After owning and enjoying this item for 3 years, it started making static noise. Next thing, smoke and electric fire smell. I can't tell you how disappointed I am with Boston Acoustics. I've been a proud owner of their speakers for a long time. Please be careful that you don't burn down your own house with this thing.
Summary: Bought this product to enhance speakers in a newly purchased LCD TV. DIdn't want to get a full blown home theater system, and this unit with the wireless woofer seemed the perfect solution. But, it has now been returned as the remote control of the speaker sound and mute feature failed to work from my easy chair about 10 feet away. Seemed to work fine when I initially trained it to respond to my TV remote, but then I was only 4 to 5 feet away from the unit.
Summary: Boston Acoustics is the most unresponsive company I have ever dealt with. The speaker will not change volume unless you hold the remote within 3 feet of it. I have made eight calls to the company and not been able to talk to anyone and they don't return a call. After three days they finally responded to an e-mail. They told me how to take it apart and change the lens over the infrared sensor but warned me that is was a little dangerous.
