Boston Acoustics MCS 100

The Boston Acoustics MCS 100 is a midpriced home cinema speaker system composed of 4 satellite speakers, a center channel speaker and a subwoofer. The surround sound system is compact enough for most rooms but still provides more than adequate sound. Boston Acoustics manufactures each component of the MCS 100 in-house to ensure that the quality meets their own exacting standards. The MCS 100 is available in a Midnight or Mist finish with either an Onyx or Silver colored grille.

The five-speaker Boston Acoustics MCS 100 features a Reduced Baffle Diffraction Design (RBDD) for wider and smoother dispersion.

Satellites

Each of the four satellite speakers measures 4.4 x 7.4 x 3.7 inches (W x H x D) and weighs 2.5 pounds. The satellites each use a 3 inch woofer with Phase Plugs and MagnaGuard video shielding and a 0.75 inch Kortec tweeter. The satellite speaker set, which can be purchased separately, has adjustable feet as well as built-in wall mount brackets.

Center Channel Speaker

The MCS 100’s center channel speaker feature dual 3 inch woofer drivers, also with Phase Plugs and MagnaGuard video shielding, and a 0.75 inch Kortec tweeter driver. The center channel, which features a Deep Channel Design (DCD), measures 12.6 x 5.7 x 3.8 inches (W x H x D) and has a weight of 4.6 pounds.

Subwoofer

The 100 watt (RMS) downfiring subwoofer measures 15.4 x 12.8 x 15.4 inches (W x H x D) and weighs 22.7 pounds. Its woofer driver measure 8 inches.
