Boston Acoustics MCS 130

The MCS 130 surround sound speaker system from Boston Acoustics features 3 LCR (Left/Center/Right) speakers, 2 surround speakers and a single powered subwoofer. The MCS 130 is relatively compact in size and has a slim profile design. The system is available in a Midnight finish with an Onyx grille or a Mist finish with Silver grille. Optional colored cloth grills are also available in a wide variety of colors to choose from. These colors include Glacier, Rosebud, Onyx, Pearl Gray, Caramel, Chocolat, Silver, and Chili Pepper.

With a Reduced Baffle Diffraction Design (RBDD), the Boston Acoustics MCS 130 promises a wider and smoother dispersion of sound. The set of three LCR speakers and the pair of surround speakers are both available as separate purchases.

LCR speakers

Each of the three LCR speakers uses a dual 3.5 inch copolymer Deep Channel Design (DCD) woofer with Phase Plugs and MagnaGuard video shielding and a 1 inch Kortec soft dome tweeter. Each LCR speaker measures 5 x 13.9 x 4.06 inches (W x H x D) with a weight of 5.5 pounds and features built-in wall mount brackets as well as adjustable feet.

Surround Speakers

The surround speakers each measure 5 x 8.4 x 4 inches (W x H x D) and weigh 3 pounds. The speakers utilize 3.5 inch copolymer Deep Channel Design (DCD) woofer with Phase Plugs and MagnaGuard video shielding and a 1 inch Kortec soft dome tweeter. Another similarity to the LCR speakers are the surround speaker’s built-in wall mounts and adjustable feet.

Subwoofer

The MCS 130’s down firing subwoofer features a 10 inch woofer driver and a power output of 200 watts (RMS). It measures 16.5 x 13.8 x 16.5 inches (W x H x D) and has a weight of 31.2 pounds.
