Summary: I bought this item because I had seen it demonstrated last summer in a Bose store. I went through the complete installaton and found that the system wouldn't work. I contacted a Bose store to see if they had any insight on the problem and they gave me some ideas of what to try, but that didn't resolve the problem. They also referred me to Bose Tech support. When I called them they tried to fix the problem, but were unsuccessful.
You DON'T get what you pay for. Definitely NOT the best for the money

Summary: Just helped my uncle install one of these in his home and was thoroughly underwhelmed by the finished result. The upper frequencies are decent, but there is an utter lack of clarity across the mid-range frequencies, and absolutely no presence in the lower bass frequencies. Imaging is extremely poor...absolutely no sense of dimension beyond the speakers themselves, and I can pinpoint each speaker as a point source.
Summary: where bose stands out is on price. its perfect for the person that doesnt want to think when buying a surround system. If you care about sound and quality, try spending the equivalent in Onkyo Yamaha, or Denon... no comparison. bose is the dime store version of home theater, at the boutique price...
Summary: I have a 3D TV. Bose system does not work on the 3D TV. SO before you buy Bose call Bose company and talk to them about your HD TV and your 3D TV. The sound is not as good as Klipsch Speaker. Also to update the system you have to use USB. The system does not have direct connection to the network. I think they need to work harder to keep up.
