Summary: I got this unit about 3 months ago. I paired it with a 42inch LG Scarlet LCD and Asus O!Play HD2. I've set it up in a room that's 11feet by 16feet. The result is awesome. I use the BOSE for the sound and the O!Play HD2 for the visuals. The combination just works perfectly. I don't use it as a DVD player since it does have some region limitations. I prefer to use it to pipe out the audio which it does so well. The sound is rich and clear.
Summary: I bought this unit because I wanted the Bose surround sound without the rear speaker wires. Unfortunately, I was disappointed right out of the box. I had no idea that you can't adjust the bass level of this unit. Really?! There's no adjustment for the bass on a surround sound system from Bose?! Money wasted.
Summary: The sound on this system is excellent. Crisp and sharp especially when watching an action movie or listening to the radio. However, want to play a DVD/CD and most if not all of the time no matter how old or new the DVD or CD is you will get the dreaded "format unsupported" message. Called customer service and since it was out of the "service warranty time frame" we are pretty much poop out of luck.
Summary: We bought this because my wife wanted less stuff on the shelf.I am disapointed with it.Have to have the system real loud to get any effects. The guy told me recently ,they don't work well for home theater. The best thing is a reciever, hook everything to it.So sorry I wasted $1,000 .
Summary: I PURCHASED MY 321 IN 2003, 8 YEARS LATER I'M STILL USING IT. THE DVD WORKS GREAT FOR STANDARD DVD'S. I CAN NOW RUN MY COMPUTER THRU IT. I AM PURCHASING A SONY BPD S770 BLU RAY DVD 3D PLAYER TO EXTEND THE USE OF THE 321 FOR MANY MORE YEARS TO COME. THE 321 DVD PLAYER DOES HAVE TROUBLE NOW WITH MUSIC CD'S, BUT I CAN USE MY COMPUTER OR SONY PLAYER FOR CD'S.
Summary: This thing really is garbage. It's borderline impossible to watch a movie without it freezing up. I had numerous conversations with Bose about the problem and they kept sending me updates that were supposed to fix it. The updates didn't work and the process dragged on for weeks of me not being able to watch movies.
Summary: i have gone through many sound systems , dont ask why but i have. This by far is the best home theater i have ever had, and although its pricey like all things bose, it is more than worth it. I do have t put a disclaimer that a front speaker is needed but i have mine hooked up to my bose wave cd player and its incredible i do with it had more outputs/inputs but the way i have it going is so easy and i don't have to switch between channels so no need for fumbling with...
Don't buy! Very Disappointing! Something better may be in your dumpster!

Summary: If you buy this with the intention to watch movies...do not buy it. The DVD portion is horrible quality. It locks up CONSTANTLY! Our 10+ years-old Toshiba DVD player is more dependable than this. If you think you are getting quality with the Bose name, forget it! BTW, buy your speaker stands at Walmart for $40. Bose should give everyone their money back and STOP selling this item. It locks up and overheats, and we suspect the heat is destroying our DVDs.
Summary: Had this system for about two months last year, as a friend moved South and left a load of stuff at my house. I was really excited to try this, as Bose has a great reputation... However, and as I said, I did NOT purchase this unit...but like a lot of Bose products, the bang doesn't equal the buck. I hooked this system up to my TV and intially was very pleased. The more I listened, the more my ears hurt.
