  • Summary: The Adcom GFA 7607 provides 125 wpc into 8 ohms and drives my fairly ineffecient fronts and center channel and my efficient rears with no problem. It is a beast and very neutral. It just puts out whatever your source will provide and does it with no fuss. It is a very clean looking, industrial look and once powered on, it just does its thing. It has been trouble free and will go another 20 years I'm sure.

Adcom GFA-7607 7 Channel Amplifier

  • Summary: I was looking to replace multiple lower powered amps with a single multi-channel amp and lo and behold an Adcom GFA-7607 comes up for sale at less than half the price of a new one. I was using 100 watt bridged Audiosource amps for my home theater. Good amps and certainly a dollar/watt bargain, but with a 7.2 system I had 8 in the rack making it big and heavy and needing 2 power conditioners and additional cooling.

Adcom GFA-7607

  • Summary: Solid build quality for the money, warm sound (particularly the mids), solid, well-constructed binding posts. For moderate power needs (125w x 7 into 8 ohms), this amp should fulfill most needs. Probably a better theater amp than a musical one (well, it IS a 7 channel, after all). Still sounds great for music, particularly SACD multi and DVD-A multi. Very pleased. If you can pick up a used one for around seven to eight hundred, it's a great intro into separates.
