Summary: This tuner greatly improved reception and sound quality compared with the fairly competent tuner built into my Denon receiver. The HD sound quality is a big improvement over regular FM and even regular FM sounds better with the Sangean. I find the signal strengh display quite useful. The only downside I'm aware of is that it should be possible to save (pre-set) a station as regular FM in mono mode, for stations with weak signals.
Pros: Easy set-up, Excellent reception, Quality of sound, Useful displays
Summary: This unit replaces an excellent Denon 660 series tuner in my home system so the comparison was already stacked. This unit did not disappoint in set-up, station selection, and features. The only negative aspect is the tuner is an electrical drain even when not in use. Problem solved by using a strip outlet with a central on/off switch.
Summary: I use this HD tuner with a rooftop antenna and get good receiption. I'm located 30 miles from downtown Chicago. Sound quality is significantly better than non HD radio when using an outboard D/A Processor in conjunction with this tuner.
Summary: Good for any component based AV Setup. Great Clarity, Low Power consumption compared to the few other tuners on the market, and has a nice HD Seek Function. Remote is difficult to use. Wish I could program my Pre-Amp remote for it. I had to "teach" my Onkyo receiver the controls. Took a really long time and was frustrating.
Pros: Clean Sound, Easy To Set Up, Low Power Consumption, Quick Signal Acquisition
Summary: As HD Tuners go there are only four Brands of top notch performance tuners available you can get today. This is ONE! Sangean radios are in my arsenal of toys I enjoy. Todays Tech devices are something to behold from just a few years ago. Wait what innovations await us in the oncoming years. Its a fun tech time we live in YES!
Pros: Accurate Controls, Clean Sound, Durable, Easy To Set Up, Good Power, Remote, Uncanny Perfomance, World CLass Quality
