The Yamaha YST- SW216 features Advanced Yamaha Active Servo Technology (Advanced YST II), QD-Bass (Quatre Dispersion Bass) technology, Linear port, 10 inches driver with long stroke cone, 100 W dynamic power, 25 Hz -180 Hz Frequency Response, Advanced Negative Impedance converter (ANIC) circuits, selectable high-cut filter and high-density MDF cabinet.

Features

The Yamaha YST- SW216 features Advanced Yamaha Active Servo Technology (Advanced YST) where the speaker and amplifier work together to cancel out impedance which allows high levels of sound pressure and performance. It features front-firing active subwoofer technology which uses front-firing drivers to provide power and detailed reproduction in a compact unit. It is said that this subwoofer is capable of producing full sonic enjoyment of games, music and especially movies. In addition to this, the QD-Bass (Quatre Dispersion Bass) technology uses the down-firing drivers with square, pyramid-shaped reflective plates to radiate the sound efficiently in four horizontal directions. It is said that these plates negate effects caused by the floor surface and reduces resonance between sound waves reflected from the floor and the unit. This subwoofer has linear port which is able to smooth bass response and minimises extraneous noise. The Yamaha YST- SW216 offers frequency response of 25 Hz to 180 Hz. It has 100 W of Dynamic Power which ensures that all bass sounds are heard. It is also said that even the loudest short bursts with fast attack is heard with total clarity. The 25cm long-stroke cone driver with magnetic shielding eliminates the distortion-causing interference when the speaker is placed near a TV or other monitor. Advanced negative impedance converter (ANIC) circuits system allows optimization of speaker impedance which produces stable performance and higher sound pressure levels. This is said to give a more natural and energetic bass reproduction.

The Yamaha YST- SW216 features compatible speakers for the Subwoofer which is models NS-225F (Front), NS-C225 (Centre), NS-225F (Surround) and NS-M225 (Surround Back). RX-V559 is the recommended receiver for this subwoofer. It is measured at (W x H X D) 13-3/8 x 13-3/8 x 15-3/16 inches.
