Excerpt: better to localize it not on the midts of the "stereo", not completly "firing front", put ..right rear "corner" just touching the wall and then an angle of about 30 degree producing an "opening"...this side is were the "duct"is placed, with this positioning you get a solid bass coming from everywhere enjoyed and have fun!
Excerpt: Home theater set up in a challenging open floor plan family room with flat screen lcd tv in the corner. This budget sub woofer more than adequate. It has been moved around the room to find best location for sound. I found the more out in the open the better. Nice deep clear bass.
Excerpt: I use this system with my new tv. The sound is great for the dollar. I mainly watch sports and game. I also listen the tuner with it during the day too. Its great in sound quality in all of these uses.
Pros: Attractive Design, Easy To Set Up, Good Power Output, Great Sound Quality
Summary: I was shopping to upgrade my home theater audio system from a 8 year old all-in-one box system that had a passive sub. My main criteria were a budget below $500, reputable brand with state-of-the-market specs, and good ratings. I opted for a Yamaha RX-V373 receiver and this sub. This sub caught my eye on an amazon.com search because of its favorable price point and very positive reviews.
Summary: This is only the second subwoofer I've owned. The first was a non-powered unit with a 12" downward-firing driver. It was disappointing to say the least, maybe because I was trying to push it with a 40 watt per channel amp. My current amp has double that power, but I knew I wanted a powered unit that allowed me to adjust the relative volume of the subwoofer vs. the main speaker output. I have a small listening area and don't need a lot of power.
Summary: Small size, works great with my Yamaha sound bar. The family was quite impressed, including my wife who rolled her eyes when I talked about getting this for about 1 year. The sound from our entertainment system took leaps and bounds forward in depth with the added subwoofer. Great Yamaha product. Highly recommended. Prime shipping!
Excerpt: I am surprised at the quality of sound from the subwoofer, especially at the price. I have a Yamaha Home theater receiver and run my computer, game and audio equipment through it. It sounds great. I wish it had a trigger switch so it could turn on when I turn on the receiver.
Pros: Easy To Set Up, Good Power Output, Great Sound Quality
Summary: I had a system that was sort of rigged together with some leftover speakers from a Samsung DVD system. I purchased the Denon 7.2 system. When I transferred all the wires to the Denon, I noticed that the Subwoofer was permanently attached to the Samsung DVD Player. I was living without a rich sound for ever! Then I got this and plugged it in, set it up with my Denon and it's like I'm hearing beauty for the first time every! The way it transforms sound is amazing.
