Summary: Quality Yamaha product. Perfect for use behind furniture which is where I placed it. Fills the livingroom with powerful low end and is tuned to match room acoustics thanks to my Yamaha Aventage receiver with YPAO. Glad I bought it. Spacesaving, and worth it.
Summary: This item found as USED, but $100 off list price. If you need a tall tower subwoofer , you can hide this is for you! I agree with another reviewer, yamaha could have used Banana plug hi-level speaker inputs, but ok as is. Never had issues with spring loaded before. The ease of auto-on, is a nice feature to be green! So far sounds great. Have yet to hook up to surround sound, or use it for movies, to hear the booms! You will not be disappointed with this product.
Summary: I bought this subwoofer as part of a system to improve the sound of my Panasonic flat-screen plasma tv.I was not satisfied with the sound of the current batch of sound bars on the market.I matched it with a pair of Sony SS-B1000 small bookshelf speakers.I am very pleased with the resulting audio quality. This unit does a great job of reproducing the bottom end of the audio spectrum, and it is small enough to fit on the shelf of a tv stand when laid on its long side.Like...
Summary: Sorry, but I got so carried away talking about the good stuff that I forgot to mention the one fault I have with the Yamaha NS-SW310 subwoofer, and that is the rather small and cheap spring loaded speaker terminals. This is the reason I gave this unit 4 stars instead of 5 for features. Both my receiver and my bookshelf speakers have proper binding posts and I think at $400 Yamaha could have done the same.
