Excerpt: I have another Velodyne Sub on my main surround sound system so my expectations were high. It functioned as described. It was easy to install and adjust. Sounds great. It really rounds out the sound on my second system. No problems with the order and shipping. B&H was great as always.
Pros: Easy To Set Up, Good Power Output, Great Sound Quality
Summary: Just completed the home theater - a 20 x 16 finished attic. Polk rc85i speakers and this sub complete the 5.1 setup. This sub creates a very clean and powerful low end for music. For movie tracks, some scenes that want to rumble the room have no problem doing so with this sub. In the middle of a movie, I've had to look over at the sub in awe more than twice in one week. Nicely done Velodyne.
Summary: This subwoofer replace an old Klipsch I had for over 10 years - good bye good friend. The new Velodyne has great sound, not boomy, but solid bass punch. Initial impression of materials and workmanship is quite good. It would be appropriate to have a subwoofer input on this speaker rather than "Y-ing" or running the speaker cables from the amp. Did follow recommendations to put volume at 1/4 and then control from the amp - this seems to work well.
Summary: Of primary importance is the fact that this subwoofer delivers clean/sweet bass at both low and high volume levels for both music and movie applications and that's the crux of its raison d'etre. But additionally, it is desirably quite light weight and aesthetically pleasing. The combination of great bass purity, manageable weight and appealing aesthetics more than justify the $299 price tag that I paid. Definitely an overall pleaser.
Summary: I bought this speaker to move the bass off the front floor speakers. Prior to buying it I had no sub woofer. It has made all the speakers perform better. It fits my need for a small sub and didn't irritate my wife too much. It's in a great room and with the volume at 50 on a scale of 0 to 80it's as loud as one would ever need with no distortion. In short buy this sub.
Summary: I have had my Impact 10 for about 6 weeks and it has performed great. I bought the Impact 10 because I needed quality craftsmanship and sound. As of yet, I can't find anything to dislike about the product. The Velodyne Impact 10 is in a class on it's own.
Summary: Great once I upgraded my receiver and used the LFE sub output on the receiver. I started off using an old Pioneer VSX 5.1 receiver. After about 2 months I upgraded my receiver to a Pioneer AVR 1021k. I keep the subwoofer frequency knob at 50 HZ to capture the lowest frequency available. All I can say is WOW! After these couple of tweaks this subwoofer sounds amazing. The room I listen to it in is fairly small so it has an even better impact.
