Summary: This is a sealed sub that is perfect to complement any good sounding bookshelf speakers. Because it's sealed, its a very tight and nearly perfect timing for music listening, but it may not satisfy movie watchers who like rumbling heart thumping bass. I use it mainly for music, but it is also hooked up to my hometheater and does what I need. I have it setup to direct all freq below 60Hz to this sub.
Summary: I bought this subwoofer for it's size and power. As most home system woofers get pretty bulky from 12" on up this one is an exception. The box is as small as you're gonna get on a 12" and it sounds great. I keep it a little past half way and it adds the perfect amount of bass for my music listening and movie watching. I'd recommend it to anyone trying to add a sleek woofer to their living room set up.
Summary: This subwoofer has not only been a great addition to my home theater, it has also been an indispensable component of my gastrointestinal health. As an avid audio fan, I needed one of the best subwoofers to satisfy my love for bass. As a person who suffers from chronic constipation, I need a subwoofer so powerful, so gut wrenching, that it could actually achieve the famed "Brown Note" frequency.
Summary: I purchased a pair of these SB1000's to extend the low frequencies of my Klipsch Heresy III speakers. I have a dedicated 2 Channel system strictly for music that consists of an Oppo BDP-95 , a Jolida JD502CRC 60 Watt Stereo Tube amp, the Klipsch Heresy III's and now the SVS subs in a true stereo 2.2 configuration.
Summary: I use this for my living room 'mini' home theater, 2.1 for blu-ray movies. It rattles pictures, doors, and windows when called upon. This sealed sub provides ample amounts of clean and tight LFE. Amazing value for a 27 pound sub. SVS sells amazing products, this is my third sub from them. Accept no substitutes: SVS.
I've been wanting an SVS sub for many years. It was worth the wait!

Summary: First of all, I've been a video/audiophile for over a decade now, buying and setting up lots of different gear over the years (as my wants/needs and/or budget would permit). However I admit this is my first 'high end' subwoofer. My previous subs have been mostly ported and fairly compact as until recently I've been living in apartments.
Summary: SVS appears to have put quality and affordability ahead of sheer volume and flashy looks, which suits me just fine. You don't need to know what "acoustic suspension" means to appreciate the uncommonly deep, tight bass that radiates from this humble-looking cabinet.
Summary: This is the best musical sub you can buy for this amount of money. My Setup - Denon 1713, Cambridge Audio S30, SVS SB1000, played through WD TV Live with .FLAC and 320kbps files. I've compared side by side the BIC F12 vs the SVS SB1000 and there is really no match. The SB1000 accurately portrays every hint of bass in music. Clean, crisp, and concise. This is so much better than a ported woofer (for music).
Summary: stay away from other subs. this is the best sub for the money on the market. svs gives amazing customer service and their warranty is unbeatable. the sound is amazing in my medium sized room. svs also offers credit toward upgrades. you will not be disappointed. if you want a sub that goes a little lower go with the ported version of this sub still- $499. this sub is super compact but still manages to move A LOT of air. check out reviews on audioholics.com.
