Summary: Had this thing for ten years with no real problems then it croaked. The final as stated before was shorted. The following info is try at your own risk there is high voltage inside this device. If you don't know what you are doing then don't mess with it.
Summary: Take this review for what it's worth. I don't know much about audio technology, I just needed something for my family room for movies and television. I think this thing went above and beyond the call of duty.
Summary: This sub is $150 with free shipping for the past several months elsewhere. This is probably the best subwoofer out there for the price. This, or maybe the Dayton. Since there is no more free shipping on the Dayton, The Sony wins. It's not the best musical sub, but It's great for movies.
Summary: I bought this Subwoofer, after owning several subwoofers between 6 and 10", and they just never seemed to have enough bass to do the job. I'm sure there are some 10" ones that are fine but not in my budget. When the subwoofer arrived, it was hooked up through the rca input, and nothing happened.
Summary: I am very happy with my purchase of the Sony SA-WM500 subwoofer. It made a great difference in my home theater experience by adding depth and feel to my home stereo and surround sound system. I like the adjustable crossover frequency and volume setting.
Summary: This is my first sub woofer, I bought it using the reviews I read. I wanted a auto off type also. I am not an audiophile but my friend is and he said its a good entry level subwoofer, I laughed because this sounds great to me and he has $25k tied up in his system. It was a great buy in my opinion.
Summary: I recently setup my basement media room and bought the Sony SA-WM500 to complete my audio component setup. I have a Denon AVR-3806 7.1 Channel Receiver driving 7 in-wall speakers and this subwoofer.
Summary: Wow, this is a lot of bass. When I had all the controls on my Receiver set, I turned this baby to about 1/4 of the total bass level and I saw all my pictures on the wall vibrate, and I could hear my oven that must have been about 20 feet away vibrate with the beats of the song!
