They are just OK

DocMarmo, Amazon
24 July 2014
  • Summary: They are just OK. Grills will not stay on with provided white putty and they only provide a tiny amount, basically skimp. They have very little throw so turning up the bass the cones bottom out. If I keep them at minimal base level with a 150 watt amp they do Okay but that is about that. These are definitely made in china if you know what I mean...

Bass off the floor

  • Summary: Just finished the simple installation in my game room and so far am loving it! The Pyle Home PDIWS12 12-Inch In-Wall High Power Subwoofer is a great deal for the great sound it gives off. The room itself is approximately 250 square feet and has an open wall to the living room area. The volume is easy to set to make my favorite songs fill my house up. Included in the kit is the mounting hardware for installation that fit perfect in the space i had made for it.

Returned

L. Peaslee, Amazon

  • Summary: Buy something else. The grill doesn't fit properly. In fact they even supply double sided tape to hold the grill in place. I thought i would buy this and if the speaker was junk i would use the frame, and grill and replace the speaker with a better one. However the frame is weak, pieces fall off and it's just poorly designed. I ended up buying an Kicker 12" 8ohm subwoofer, and a mesh grill, which I will mount in the wall.

You pay for what you get

Doug Lindsey, Amazon

  • Summary: I should of read the other reviews first. My gripe is it says "400" watts. The Rating is now where near that. I am a audio hobbiest with an Mba in Electrical Engineering and I installed this correctly (Instructions are not needed if you know how to hook a speaker up pos to pos neg to neg from amp) I played a Garth Brooks CD and had and average of 52 watts RMS of undistorted power with 71 peak watts going to each of the 2 voice coils.

Keep Looking

L. Lazo, Amazon
27 May 2010
  • Summary: This in-wall sub woofer looks like a good value but understand you'll be completely on your own for installation and wiring. No instructions at all, except for a wall cutting template. Enclosure size and damping are very important to the sound of a speaker. This 12" sub woofer requires significant enclosure volume that may not be possible with an in-wall installation.

No specs, or instructions

Clyde Bixby, Amazon
26 February 2010
  • Summary: The subwoofer arrived in a nice box, but there are no installation instructions or spec sheets. And I can't find anymore information on the web, than what amazon lists. Amazon says the subwoofer is 8ohms, but it is also a dual voice coil. Does this mean if I hook up in series the load is 8 ohms, or do i need to hook up in parallel to get 8 ohms ?
