Summary: I'll keep this short. I smashed this pos on the ground after a long battle with port nois. It was sooo bad I had to turn the bass on the sub down to 1/8 and my lfe to 20 on my receiver and still when watching movies my friends would give each other the eye when the port fart would sound.
Summary: While this sub is definitely made for movies, it still does a fairly decent job with music (music with heavy bass at least). The auto on trigger is seamless to my ears, but it still has the function to override it and keep it on depending on your preference. Best of all, it's reliable.
Summary: Purchased this Polk subwoofer four months back to round out my H T system. Pioneer receiver, and Monster floor model speakers. Came packaged in double boxes, and Styrofoam corners. This Polk is a beast!! Haven't cranked it up all the way but I don't feel that I need to.
Summary: I have never owned a subwoofer before. I bought this one because I had just bought a new L.E.D. flat screen t.v. with a sound bar for watching movies. The sound bar hinted at what a "low end" would sound like, but I wanted to go "deeper.
Summary: UPDATE **06-24-2013** So far so good. I have had a chance to listen to more music, and I must say that this speaker is really pretty solid for music. I've listened to some orchestral, hip hop, rock and a variety of other music.
Summary: Based on the single review of this subwoofer, I had to jump in here and say something. I bought this subwoofer based on 527 reviews on Amazon and never found a single negative comment that would lead me to "Stay FAR away"
Buy F12 $198 or buy Dayton $130 12 inch, unless your a 16 year old child that just wants a big box that goes bang, bang, bang

Summary: I bet your just like I was when I first looked at the Polk PSW505, Tired of your crappy 8 inch joke of a sub. You need something more powerful, something that will put the fear of God into the heart of anybody that dares walk into your theatre while the Dark Knight is playing.
Summary: Don't buy this sub unless you can handle the POWER! It's loud. I plugged this in where my old JBL 10 was and I almost blew my eardrums out. Call of Duty sounds like someone is actually shooting an assault rifle in my basement.
Summary: * (Please rate this review if you found it helpful) * EDIT: After 2 months of having this subwoofer, I have concluded that this is an amazing deal for the money! The sounds blends in perfectly with my Infinity Primus series of tower and bookshelf speakers.
