Summary: I gave this unit 2 stars which might be unfair. You basically get what you pay for. I made the mistake of reading previous reviews before making my purchase. I guess people have different ideas of what makes a good subwoofer. This unit rumbles with no distinct musical quality behind it.
Summary: Purchased this Polk subwoofer four months back to round out my H T system. Pioneer receiver, and Monster floor model speakers. Came packaged in double boxes, and Styrofoam corners. This Polk is a beast!! Haven't cranked it up all the way but I don't feel that I need to.
Summary: I read so many reviews on the internetz [sic - am trying to be hip], and most who praise this subwoofer have not had experience with a proper subwoofer, and those who put this sub down are those who have superior subwoofers. Guess what? For the price, this is a great subwoofer.
Better than I'd ever hoped, and has several ways to connect to your receiver/preamp. Real BANG for the buck !

Summary: Simply awesome. accurate down to 22Hz, when watching Avengers when the underground lab collapses - the house rattles so much that things fall from bookshelves ! But no distortion or 'resonant booming', just 400W of clean bass with selectable crossover and various connection options (I am using with...
Summary: The Bass is clear and loud. It shakes the entire house. This is my first subwoofer so I had a little trouble setting it up. I have a Yamaha RX-V575 receiver that this sub is connected to to the LFE input port. At first, I wasn't sure why it wasn't working when I plugged it in.
Nice but may be too much sub for smaller home theatres.

Summary: Nice sub for the money. It has lots of options including phase, crossover level (if using an unfiltered source) and auto power on (or manual if needed). In auto mode, sub will power down after 15 minutes without a source signal.
Summary: I have never owned a subwoofer before. I bought this one because I had just bought a new L.E.D. flat screen t.v. with a sound bar for watching movies. The sound bar hinted at what a "low end" would sound like, but I wanted to go "deeper.
Summary: Good quality - easy installation - works perfectly. This is one part of a 5.1 Polk audio home theater project and the end product resulted in great sound for a room 32' x 22'. I wish I had doubled the sound insulation, now. Love it!
Summary: Ridiculously crazy bass!!!! Hands down best powered sub for the price!! It takes a couple/ few hours to tweek the peak performance level that's not too heavy for the amplifier or too much extension for the surround. I must say...
Summary: Whether you enjoy solid punch with your music or thunderous bass with your movies, this unit fits the bill! I just finished my basement and pre-wired it for a 5.1 surround system in the theatre.
