Warning!!!! Get ready for the "red light of death"

Summary: At the 22 month mark, and seeing minimal use, I got the dreaded "red light of death" (protect mode). The sub amp is only warranted for 1 year, there is a reason for that! $500 sub with good driver, cheap amp. Capacitors blew. Seems to be pretty common. This did not happen while using it. Sat down to watch a movie, sub tried to turn on and went into the protect mode. I am not a hip-hop guy nor listen to movies at room shaking volume.
Summary: Loud; sounds fantastic for music (and obviously for movies). The only difficulty you'll have in setup is with your receiver; I had to configure mine through my remote. "small speaker" for the fronts (even though they're good and can do 40hz) with 80hz xover. There are only 4 phase settings on the sub (0/90/180/270), but 0deg worked best anyway. Signal detection/standby works fine. Nice construction and blue light (which tells you what your volume is etc).
Summary: I bought this sub to replace the one that came with my Infinity tss-1200 system, after it burned out in one year. I found the polk sub to have a great sound with good response. I am completely happy with it. The only problem that I have with it was the remote control features. It is very time consuming to sit and press the volume button then count the number of times the light blinks to see the volume setting.
Summary: I'm pleasantly surprised by this sub. I took advantage of a huge savings on Amazon (had to wait a few months to get it, but that was ok). There are tons of features built into the panel and the power this projects is amazing. I have a large open living room, so finding a sub that can fill it was pretty hard...but this is the one. If you can afford it, go for it.
Summary: I bought this as an upgrade to a $40 6yrs old 8" pioneer sub. This sub does not even match the performance. If you don't have a Sub then this is an OK sub but it's not worth more than $100, IMO. I am very disappointed and I can't help but feel as if I was Polk lied to me. The features are nice. Auto on/off is a nice touch, the remote is cool but I am a set it and forget it guy so a remote is just one extra remote on the coffee table.
Summary: Awesome sub, received in a few days and it was just like brand new. I thought i would need two for the large room but one is plenty! Even if you pay MSRP, this is hands down the best sub i've heard for the money.
A sub that will show you what you've been missing.

Summary: Way back in the day my dad bought his first sub when we went to Circuit City. The salesman played the first five minutes of Terminator 2 with and without a sub. We were hooked, but when we got home the sub we bought made only a fraction of the difference that it did in the store. I've had a few lower end subs, but this sub is the first time I really felt like I was getting that experience.
Summary: Thing brings the bass. 500 watts of thump, I have it as my main sub with another Polk Audio powered sub just for the thrill of it. Love the remote control that comes with it, can adjust the bass on the fly. Produces prodigious amount of bass, it looks sharp sitting next to my Polk RTi-A7 mains and handles both audio and video sound with ease.
Summary: subwoofer performs better than the one it replaced. after a little breaking in it got even better, this babies tight in all the right places. and not a bad price either ...refurbs can be considered better than new, it goes back to the factory and everything gets the once over...more than a production line spot/quality check!
