Excerpt: I have this paired with the Onkyo TX-SR 313 surround sound system. I was looking for something to complete the system and this did it. Well built and sturdy. Easy set up and comes with the cable needed to hook up to the surround sound system. Plug it in, turn it on and you are ready to go. Great price and great sounding woofer. Nothing to complain about so far. Thanks B&H !!!
Pros: Attractive Design, Easy To Set Up, Great Sound Quality
Summary: I bought this sub for my parents for xmas and it was a great buy! This was the first time I've purchased an Onkyo product, I have a 15" Cerwin Vega sub in my living room and two 8" down firing Pioneers in my pool room. Without a doubt the Onkyo beats the Pioneer, of course not with both 8's going and it is no match for the $600 Cerwin Vega but, it has some rumble to it.
Summary: This sub woofer does sound good. But is a little boomy at first and is easily fixed with the adjustments on the rear. The only dislike I have is the auto standby, it kicks in a little soon and when it comes back on it sometimes makes an annoying thump.otherwise I really like this sub.
Summary: I have been using the Onkyo SKW204 for several weeks. I do like the sound it produces but have some trouble with the Stand By feature that is built into the speaker. I have adjusted the controls on my receiver and on the subwoofer itself following instructions from the booklet enclosed with the subwoofer. I have found that older music and films that do not have heavy bass tracks allow the Stand By to kick in and out.
