Summary: I give the MartinLogan DYNAMO-300 sub the full FIVE stars not only because it is inexpensive, but because: a) It is POWERFUL and delivers quite a punch (even though it's only 75 watts on an 8" driver) b) It is COMPACT c) It FILLS my 23' by 17' room easily (music or movies) d) It has a BEAUTIFUL finish e) It has all the features you would ask for (auto-on/off, line-level inputs, speaker inputs, crossover, level knob, phase switch, led indicator).
Summary: If you love accurate sound reproduction, rather than just looking at the spec sheets, this sub will surprise you. It works flawlessly if you listen to music (which is what I use it for mostly) as well as movies. MartinLogan matches their subs and other products to blend sonically with their electrostatic speakers (some of the best in the world!
This made a huge improvement in my home office audio system...

Summary: When I first received this subwoofer, I didn't particularly like it...I thought it sounded muddy. That quickly faded and it now sounds much cleaner. I'm using this in my home office audio system. Even with excellent bookshelf speakers, it's made a huge, huge improvement in the quality of the sound. One comment about subwoofer size: go with the largest one that you can reasonably fit. You'll generally get better and cleaner low frequency response.
Summary: This subwoofer has worked out perfectly for me. I have it setup with two small satellite speakers for the computer. It doesn't knock down the walls but adds seamlessly to low end frequencies when they are present in the track making the sound complete. Martin and Logan have put some nice touches and upgrades over similar units that tells me the unseen parts are higher quality as well. Of course the proof is in the listening and it is good!
Summary: Asides the fact that this is a very good looking subwoofer I am fairly pleased with it. This won't rock your socks off. If you are looking to blow your head away with bass then steer clear. This sub does a great job supplementing my speakers and hitting those low freqs. It is however only an 8 inch sub, that comes with limitations. To me this sub has a musical quality to the bass it produces. I like it.

Summary: I bought these to pair with a set of Vanatoo Transparent ones, which aren't absent of bass but after years of using JBL S310s (3 way floor standing speakers) which migrated to the living room, I needed something to fill the void. I own a 10 inch Polk Audio PSW10 which decent for the price but not quite a 5 star rating. Despite the MartinLogan being a smaller woofer, the Martin Logan hits deeper, and has the advantage of tighter response.
Summary: I wasn't expecting such a nice sub when I purchased this. Then after about a week of break in, it was so detailed and blended that I want another one for 7.2. It won't hit 22hz at 100db or anything. For a medium sized loft, studio, or apt, this is great without sacrificing quality. Loudness is the only trade off as mentioned, but nobody can run their gear at reference level in the condo style living.
A Quality Entry Level Subwoofer for both Music and Movies

Summary: I have MartinLogan speakers for both my home theatre (movies) and my family room stereo (music). This speaker does a great job with accuracy for movies and an accurate base response for music. It does not go 'boom boom boom' to the music, but tucks the lowest frequencies accurately under the base from the left and right front speakers. The price buys an excellent speaker for a smaller or second sound system. It would work very well in a condo or apartment home.
