Summary: I purchased this subwoofer on January 17, 2012. Today it is July 24, 2015. Like many of the reviews here, my unit started the loud humming sound even when everything is disconnected from the woofer. It looks like the mean time to failure for this woofer is about three years... rather disappointing.
Perhaps The Best Value Residential Low-end Small Sub-Woofer
Honest John, Amazon
3 June 2015
Summary: This is a inexpensive entry unit into the residential sub-woofer market. I love it with qualifications. In a room under 12' by 12' it performs well for music of different genres and ages of recording--analog/analog2digital/digital, etc.It does dinosaur rock, classic rock, heavy metal, classical,...
Summary: I picked up this Martin Logan 8inch sub to replace the yamaha 10in sw315 powered sub that I was running on the right side of my home theatre. I bought the yamaha because of the name and never auditioned it in person. What a big mistake. Oh well...
Summary: I bought this Martin Logan 300 Sub last week and have been using considerably this week and am very happy with my purchase. I am using it with my new Definitive Technology Incline speakers in my home office so it is not supposed to match my audiophile set up in my Rec room but it matches just...
Awesome little sub, albeit with some quality-control problems and a few inconsequential bugs
24 February 2015
Summary: I love these little subwoofers and would give them 5 stars except for their quality control problems. I've had to return about 50% of them. They deliver a good amount of tight, controlled bass for a bedroom or office or small living room.
Summary: Sound is fine. Workmanship is fine. Reliability has been terrible since about 12 months in. Loud popping noises would appear and then vanish for months. Now, just humming. No sound. Dead. $500 for 3 years of very light use--not a bargain. Would not buy again.
