Summary: Should have purchased 2. I use the Klipsch KLF20's for my fronts, they are coming up on 15 years of service with only one tweeter replacement.
Pros: Owned and operated this unit for close to two years without a problem. The unit is powered by an Onkyo 7.2 Surround system and set to 180 degrees out of phase with gain at half. Still kicking for going in and out of standby for 24x7x365 day period. Provides clean suburb low end that will literately shack, rattle and roll nicknacks off a shelf. Its a Klipsch what more can I say.
Summary: As of today, still on sale on Newegg at a very good price. I would highly recommend to others, even at $169, you will not find another subwoofer on the market to compare for the money.
Pros: Speaker arrived in 2 business days after order placement. Subwoofer arrived in good condition, hooked it up, sounds awesome. This subwoofer replaces an identical unit that died after several years. I spent the extra on sale $20 for the extended 3 year warranty since many are saying the subwoofer gives up after a couple of years. For the sale price, outstanding Klipsch sound it was a great deal I am very happy with!
Summary: I had bought Klipsch Promedia 2.1 speakers for PC some years ago, but used them only for six months, then put them away. When I installed them again to use them, the woofer unit, which also contains the power switch stopped turning on. I wrote to the Klipsch corporation explaining my very minimal usage, and asking for a repair at no cost even though the speaker was out of warranty.
Cons: I had this in a home theater setup that was used lightly for a couple months then sat idle for over a year. Went to use it today and it is mostly dead (woofer will vibrate slightly with gain at full but no sound). Verified that it was the sub by plugging in a different one. I am just barely out of the 2 year warranty period, but this had been used maybe 10-15 times before going out. Guess I am partly to blame for not checking it earlier, but I'm out $200 now. Judging ...
Pros: The subwoofer was loud. It sounded great, I loved it.
Cons: Died within 23 months. Newegg lists a 2 year warranty on it, so I think I might be able to get some compensation under warranty, but I was disappointed. I really only used this subwoofer very little. The gain was always turned to AT MOST halfway, usually much less because it was loud enough for me. Was not pushed to it's limits in any way.
Summary: I would rate this a 5 star if it would work in week 5 like it did in week 1. I bought this to compliment my Klipsch RF series 850 watt sub in my 7.2 system. The Synergy 10 worked for about 4 weeks, then the only sound emitted from it was the sound from Independence Day when the nerds hear the vibrating cackle when the aliens enter our "space". I'm more than a little upset since I now have a 50lb carpet weight.
