Audiovox Powered Sub, Great for the Beginner/Inter...

4 April 2010
  • Summary: This sub was first placed in my retail store. I hooked this sub up to a sub-par reciever and had mega thump to the raido listening to r&b and upbeat urban hip-hop. When my reciever finally came in I brought the powered sub home and hooked it up to my 5.1 sony reciever. I have a blu-ray player and a 500w sony 5.1 hdmi reciever. This sub in my living room delivers amazing bass and a low tone that is amazing with movies.

Unleash the power

17 July 2004
  • Summary: Ok I bought this Jensen sub a few months back now, but as it is only an 8inch it wasnt quite enough bass for me. I needed to fix this problem. I though gee this is a power amp right, if i want more bass i need a bigger sub but could not afford these. So in order to fix this problem I had a 10inch Pyramid car subwoofer that i had picked up at london drugs for 30 bucks canadian and I had a sealed box laying around for that as well.

Good sub for 50 bucks!

Ruteger, Amazon
21 March 2004
  • Summary: Yes, this sub does not have the best features or engineering when compared to JBL or Bose (for those of us in the mid-market range), however, for 50 bucks I couldn't be more happier. The 8 inch cone distorts at higher gain (when the dial in the back of the sub is set to "max"), so the frequency response when the volume is jacked up isn't great. However, if the dial is kept in the middle, and when paired up with decent front speakers, this sub can really drill the LFE's.
