Summary: Originally used this sub for an interactive sound chamber and then it found its way into my home surround sound system. The voice coil easily booms those low notes with no problems or signs of "struggle". I've never heard it bottom out.
Summary: This product was one of the very worst I ever purchased. The main board fried up in a little over two years. The service to repair it was almost what I paid for the unit. Shame on me for nmot buying extended maintenancePowered Subwoofer
Summary: I have had this for 2 years now exactly and bought if for a wonderful price in 2007. It is definitely the best SW I've heard at any of my relatives/friends places compared. But it has started clicking now sometimes and it goes away after about a minute or less.
Summary: This is a very high quality subwoofer and matches my other 4 JBL tower speakers in my surround sound home theater set-up perfectly. It will really pump out the low base and movie sound-effects driven by my Denon A/V receiver.
Summary: This subwoofer has made all my movies come to life. You don't truly realize how much a woofer has to do with the movie experience until you get a high quality one. JBL has hit a homerun with this piece of equipment. I have no complaints.
Summary: It took me years to get a sub, so I did a lot of searching. Amazon's price was great when I bought it. For some reason the price has skyrocketed here. I think someone realized what a great value it was and upped the price to reflect the quality of it. Bass is clean and crisp.
Summary: Recived mine yesterday. Product exceeded my expectations. Ive owned crappy cheap subs before like radio shack ones and 'home theater in a box' packages so I had no clue what a real sub was soposed to sound like.
Summary: Highly recommended for anyone that needs bass at a budget! Extremely happy with the quality. 5/7/13 update: Still going STRONG!!! Too bad they discontinued this model. AMAZING after all these years.
Summary: I have had this sub for about a month now and really like it. However, I'm not an audiophile so I cannot attest to the range and the finer details of it's output. For me, it works great with both movies and music in a medium-sized entertainment area.
Summary: I've had an 8-inch Yamaha sub for years, and it does do a nice job, but to get 30Hz you need a 12 inch woofer and a ton of amp helps. Not certain about the 500 watt power claims, but can easily pound 100 clean watts, i.e., it matches my Yamaha's 100wpc @ .05 THD.
