Summary: I purchased the take 5 speakers, and was debating between the 8" or 10" sub, I decided to go with the 10". I have had a lot of audio equipment over the years, and I really enjoy a nice clean "thumping" bass, and this unit delivers, with plenty to spare. My only complaint is, this unit has a real nice blue light that comes on when activated, and they are notorious for blowing out, usually in less than a week. This doesn't affect the performance in any way, just no light.
Summary: I bought this Sub Woofer based on numerous reviews I had read. The first one I received simply did not work, and would not "auto power up. and off".. The company did replace it immediately...but...only after I shipped the brand new not working one back to them...AT MY EXPENSE...well, these cost about $45 to ship..they are heavy. The new one arrived and it works great. The set up and balancing was a tedious and numbing job.
Summary: this sub sounds awesome... once you get it set up. the sub itself was simple to set up, but when i played music, the bass was just boomy. it took me several hours of fine tuning to get the best sound out of it. i ended up cutting two 5" pieces from a foam pool noodle and stuffing them up the sub woofer ports to give it tighter bass. it was kind of a mess, but now that it is set up, it sounds amazing. you can throw any movie at it and it will pound it out with ease.
Summary: First off let me say that even if the light burns out on the front of it like everyone claims I still think that it is one of the best subs under 500 maybe even under 1000. If you're looking to make a serious addition to your Home Theater this is a great buy. Blends well with any music or movie, or if you want overwhelming bass it can shake the house. I was told this sub would struggle fall off on the low lows, I didn't experience that at all.
Summary: I use this mostly for music, and I haven't noticed anything different when watching movies: this sub is great. It's basically the same thing as the Mirage Omni-S10 10-Inch 800 Watt High-Performance Subwoofer with slightly different control layouts. This does not disappoint in any way.
Summary: Great Sub for music. I am using it w/ a pair of Energy RC10's for 2.1 stereo. It works perfect for this. Nice tight accurate bass. I'm very happy with this sub. Too bad it has been discontinued by Energy. Get it while you can at the clearance pricing.
Summary: I bought this subwoofer along with Energy TC 5 pack about 4 months ago, first 3-3 1/2 month i did not really use it because i did not have a receiver, i bought a brand new Onkyo-607 couple weeks ago. After all the break in and tweaking (crossover, phase etc) the sub works OK for mid to high sub frequencies but for low freq it makes a wierd noise like kur kur kur.
