Summary: I am a huge fan of this sub woofer. It provides more than enough power to satisfy a normal household environment. However, if you're looking to fill a large room with chest-thumping, deep bass I would recommend something larger. Yet, for my home stereo in a 1500 sq ft house it works very well. If I had to be critical, I would comment on the artificial wood-grain speaker boxes. They are made of wood, but that wood is particle board covered in a wood-grained laminate.
Summary: Really, I haven't had bass taste this good in years! After a week long marinade in my..... Oh wait. Yeah. It is a subwoofer. For the price, I can't imagine you will find anything better in the speaker size and RMS Watt output category.
Summary: I added the Cerwin Vega sub to my XLS28s and did it make a difference! I have a kitchen in my basement and had to buy the little felt circles to put on the cabinet doors as they would start to rattle from the sub and its only turned up 1/4 volume. I play Black Ops 2 (Play station 3) and when you throw a grenade the pictures on the walls upstairs rattle. Don't hesitate on the purchase of this sub, it will knock your socks off!
Summary: I agree with Connie W.; I don't know what the 1st reviewer is talking about. My XLS 12 is hitting like a sledge hammer! Deep hard hitting bass. I ony buy Cerwin Vega speakers and I have never been dissappointed. Maybe the 1st reviewer bought a fake one.
Summary: I have 2 of these monsters hooked to my Onkyo TX SR 608. AMAZING BASS OUTPUT. These hit low and hard. For movies, it's like the explosion is going off inside your house. You really only need one. These will rattle your windows, and anything else thats not bolted down. I had my volume set to -40 dbs, and could hear the bass from the street 50 feet away. Be prepared to piss off your neighbors and their neighbors too. If you are in need of a powered sub, look no further.
Summary: I am not sure what the 1st reviewer is talking about. I hooked this speaker up and went through the YPOA set up on my reveiver and it works perfectly.Delivers tight, clean base and accents the other C.V.'s in my system. Always keep in mind that C.V. speakers need lots of power (just like every other quality speaker on the market). No power - No sound quality!!!!
Summary: Cerwin vega is suppose to be one of the best home audio companies around, and the xls series is their "best" line. This sub would sound great, if it cost $80. Bass is weak and anything below 90hz is bouncy and muffled. The "250" watts rms is a joke. It MAY be putting out 100 watts. It puts out enough spl to rattle my phone that is sitting on top of the box. The desgin is nice but thats about all i can say i like about it.
