Beautiful Speaker, Sound ehh!

Lace, Amazon
5 October 2013
  • Summary: I gave this speaker a 2 rating because it truly is compact and has a beautiful shiny gloss finish. However, the sound quality just does NOT compare to my Klipsch SW-350 which has the same 8" driver. Buy the Klipsch, you won't be disappointed! But if you are lacking in space and need a more compact sub-woofer this one would fit nicely. I had it placed on the bottom shelf of my end table with room to spare, and as I stated earlier it is truly a beautiful piece.

Perfect

  • Summary: As part of the Minx system, the bass from this subwoofer is the perfect balanced sound. I have a media "area" with only two walls, open to the side and back. Interestingly, this subwoofer provides great sound without a directional feel to it at all. I'm not the "pound my ears until they bleed" type, balance is the key for me. If I was, this still has the capacity to do it, and yes I tried it to see how much it would take, power wise.
  • Pros: Great bass reproduction, clean, full and rich sounding system. It is noise free (the housing doesn't have loose parts that rattle).
  • Cons: High gloss finish may not work for some from an esthetic perspective
