Another hit (with deeeeeep bass) from Audioengines

Summary: Audioengines does it again. My experience has been one rock-solid product after another ... and the S8 continues the trend. Setup was a breeze, with an N22 driving a pair of P4s. Adjusted the crossover to about 70Hz or thereabouts to blend in well and then started to move up the volume. Holy crap, it is VERY easy to overshoot and drown out the main audio with thumping undistorted bass.
Summary: A nice little piece of furniture that triples as a work of art and a superior subwoofer for my computer desktop sound system. With a pair of Audioengine A5s as rear speakers and A2s as front speakers, I needed some bottom and splurged on the A8. It fills the gap nicely, blending the bass seamlessly and unobtrusively.
Summary: this thing shakes my house! It's connected to my A5's that i bought 2 years ago to replace my BOSE computer speakers and my A5s were so good i decided to just skip the sub.... but now i got a nice tax refund and decided to splurge... all i can say is... "i shoulda bought this thing 2 yrs ago" it is kinda expensive... *about $800 for the set* but it puts my soundbar i have in my bedroom TV to shame... it gets as loud as my Onkyo 7.1 in the living room..
Summary: This has been the perfect addition to my AudioEngine P4 speakers. The controls and settings are flexible. The sound is crisp and a perfect complement. Some subwoofer i've heard make the bass feel muddy or undefined. The S8 is never like that; it doesn't interfere with the musicality; it just enhances it.
Summary: I absolutely love this sub. It's compact in size and outputs great sound. It has enough adjustments to tweak it perfectly to the sound I'm trying to get. It is extremely well built and feels very solid. With the port in the front of the speaker I've had to keep my one year old son from putting his toys in it and that's only a minor drawback. I love the down-firing speaker and the way the controls are setup and easy to access. Definitely worth the price.
I've had to have mine repaired....but now it's cool.

Summary: Hopefully, yours will last longer than mine did. I love my Audioengine speakers and was impressed with the subwoofer until it gave up the ghost. I had maybe 50 hours on it. Calling the company didn't give me any warm and fuzzy feelings either. Now, I've got a very expensive boat anchor. Follow up on the sub. I got it repaired locally and I'm not sure but I'm thinking the power in the house I was renting might have been responsible for the problem.
