Works great with AudioEngine main speakers.

Summary: Very fast service and delivery. Product sound is great and highly recommend this subwoofer for use with AudioEngine main speakers. Running on a computer set up with 5+ s and system is simply best I've had. Some folks say it's overpriced for what you get. I disagree. It's well worth the money.
Great sub with nuanced bass that adds substantially to the A5+s

Summary: I added the S8 sub to my Audioengine A5+s hooked up to a Soundblaster ZxR sound card via RCA cables, not knowing whether the purchase would be worth the improvement in sound. It definitely is, IMO. The sub adds such a presence to the sound, expanding the soundstage significantly, that it really is important if you want to get the most out of the A5+s.
Summary: I purchased the AS8 sub to integrate with a M-Audio Delta 1010LT and BX5 D2 monitors through a PC. I am still breaking the setup in but so far I think they work together quite well. The AS8 comes with a phase, volume, and crossover knobs which I am still experimenting with but seem to be easy to dial in with a few familiar tracks of different music. The small 8inch sub generates a big bass extension at fairly low volumes.
Summary: Definitely needed this with the A5+'s. No question the speakers are lacking low end anything below roughly 250Hz is significantly lower. I'm an audio engineer so I know my audio and speakers. I like a flat even frequency sound and this sub when set correctly just makes the A5+'s even better. Not overly boomy or muddy just perfect sound now!
Summary: This sub is built solid as a rock. I bought it to supplement my headphone listening. Wow! It can shake the windows if turned up a bit (which my wife doesn't like :-). The sound and look are flawless. No distortion and enough power to easily fit into a home theater or home audio system. It produces sound way down to 27 hertz with no roll-off and probably goes down to about 20 hz to rattle your teeth. Of course, if you've got dentures, just turn down the volume a bit :-).
Summary: This sub woofer is great for music and does quite well for movies! I have paired this with a set of the Audio Engine A5+. The sub is self powered which is good for computer audio set up. There are some basic controls (Crossover and Volume) on the back and some additional RCA out if you want to use the sub as the main input. I would recommend this sub and very happy with it.
Summary: I had the A5+ for a week or two before I got this subwoofer. The sounds from the A5+ were great, but I need that extra oomph in the music I listen too. The AS8 was packed with the same pride as the A5+ was. In a big cloth bag. The cables were also in a cloth bag. The outer box was crushed a bit on delivery, but the foam inside was thick enough to protect the product from worse that what I had.
Excerpt: Setting this S8 subwoofer up takes time and patience. Manipulating the Volume-Crossover-and Phasing controls is a must to blend with the A2+ Speakers. Once you get it right it just pops right in for spacious, transparent, and low end sound. Set the volume at the 50% mark on the computer first.
Summary: AMAZING subwoofer! I have very high end equipment and just bought this for a small home theater that we have and you cant believe the punch of this lille guy! Also very enjoyable for music too! Great great value as the A2 Powered Desktop Speakers!
