With a total of 23 speaker drivers (including 2 woofers) housed in a compact 31.5 x 6 x 4.5 inch (W x H x D) enclosure and simple installation, buyers can easily set up surround sound for their home theater. The YSP-900 weighs approximately 19.8 pounds.

Available in black or silver with detachable metal grills, the YSP-900 matches the look of most television sets. The speaker can be placed on a shelf/rack or wall mounted using Yamaha’s optional SPM-K30 wall mount bracket. The standard package includes an infrared remote control and an optimizer microphone. The remote control is universal featuring multi-brand compatibility allowing it to be used to control TVs as well.

Setting up the Yamaha YSP-900 is made simple thanks to the microphone and the IntelliBeam automatic calibration system. The system monitors and analyzes sounds and angles the individual sound beams accordingly.

The YSP-900 features 21 1.625 inch full range micro drivers individually driven by a digital amplifier at 2 watts each. The two 4 inch woofers are also individually driven at 20 watts each for a total system power of 82 watts.

In addition to Yamaha’s Cinema DSP surround sound technology, the YSP-900 also has built-in decoders for Dolby Digital, Dolby Pro Logic II, DTS decoder, DTS Neo:6. The speaker’s “My Beam” feature allows the listener to switch between 5 sound modes (5-Beam, 3-Beam, 3 Beam + Stereo, Stereo and My Beam Mode) at the touch of a button. The My Beam Mode will focus the sound right where the listener is.
